It'd be just way too gloomy for all those kids reading the books... the message she's sending is already quite fucked up...
That's what I always thought whenever she'd coyly say in interviews, "How do you know Harry will survive?" I couldn't stifle the eye roll. As if she'd really kill off the protagonist. His whole story is the antithesis of that. He's "The Boy who Lived" not "The Boy who Lived...until seventh year."
But now, the threat that he might not live seems a little more plausible in my eyes. I don't think she'll ever kill him, but being a horcrux would heighten the drama for sure.
I totally think Harry's the last Horcrux. Somehow, at least... it'd probably have something to do with his scar.
I'm sure, if he is a horcrux, Rowling has some cool loophole up her sleeve so Harry doesn't have to die, because I think even she wouldn't go that far. However, leave it to her to milk that prospect for all the drama it's worth. It that would be good drama, no?
And can I just say that it is awesome to have you back? Yay and hello and such!
