I never promised nothin'
For the first time since high school ( I won't shock you by saying how long ago that was ) I found myself writing a poem. It's not that great, but I thought I'd share it only because I don't really care for poetry and never write it. Kind of surprised myself with it I guess.
That's not what I had meant to do.
I just wanted to be loved by you.
I just wanted to hold you close.
I thought our love better than most.
But when I saw the pain in your eyes.
I knew you had found out my lies.
What did you think I was supposed to do?
I just wanted to be loved by you.
I thought our love could be above the rest.
Maybe this will only be a test.
