current activities
Well, I still don't have a summer job and I'm still looking. In the meantime, I've been sampling local martial arts opportunities-- yesterday I drove about an hour and half to Richmond to watch a class practice Daito Ryu and Muso Shinden Ryu; the Daito Ryu seemed so-so, but the Muso Shinden Ryu was intriguing. Tonight I drove up to DC-- about a two hour trip-- to participate in a Xingyiquan class. It was... interesting. Not like anything I've ever felt before. Unfortunately, I don't have enough experience to really judge the quality of instruction. It seemed to be good exercise, though, and Xingyiquan is supposed to have enormous health benefits. I just hope it won't be incompatible with my main study of Jikishinkage Ryu.
Anyway, that's about it for me.
