SimSecrets Rule Reformation 2017: Survey Result!
We have now gone through all the replies of the survey and made all the changes that were voted through. This is the rule set the majority of the voters went for, we went with the majority result of the survey for every change (or non-change). The final version will be posted on December 1st when the new submission post is posted but we want to share them here first for people to comment on wording and other formalia issues. The old rule set (still valid until December 1st) can be found here.
1. Secrets must be somehow related to The Sims games. Whether it's a gameplay secret or a non-game secret that uses the game to illustrate it.
To count as sims-related, the secret must contain either a reference to the games or related materials, OR a picture from the games, with the exception of usernames and profile/banner images etc.
Vague references to "content" or "story" are only accepted if the mods can recognize that it is in fact sims-related.
2. Images may be no larger than 600x600 pixels. Suggested size is 600x450.
3. Secrets that use any real life pictures are not permitted, with the exception of explicit comparisons between content and real-life. IRL memes are banned. Make your point without them.
4. Secrets speculating about a simmer's personal matters personal matters including, but not limited to, race, religion, gender, sexuality, mental and physical health, socioeconomic status, ability and nationality, will not be accepted"
5. Secrets mentioning or alluding to a simmer's personal matters including, but not limited to, race, religion, gender, sexuality, mental and physical health, socioeconomic status, ability and nationality", in order to use it against them, will not be accepted.
6. Secrets that simply write over a previously posted secret will not be posted. That's what comments are for.
7. Secrets that are WCIF or help requests will not be posted, that is not what this community is about.
8. Secrets that use hate speech or are considered to be bullying will not be posted. Make your point without being offensive or cruel.
9. It is not allowed to make several secrets against the same simmer. If we suspect one person has done so, we will remove all of them. Further, we will limit the number of weeks in a row a person may have secrets directed at them on the same topic, to three, no matter if the secrets are made by one or many.
10. Secrets using a simmer as the topic of a secret will not posted, except in cases where it is in reaction to something simsrelated they said or did, that is visible in the secret, and in secrets about their content.
11. Whether actually sims-related or not, secrets with knowledge that would benefit the community, will be posted. This include general adfly/patreon/paysite discussions and related topics.
12. Secrets that are obvious advertisments for sites, discords and chats are not allowed.
