The Bloom Family Legacy- Generation 2 Chapter 9

Aug 29, 2011 14:17

Oh look I’m back. You must have missed these guys, right? But I did give you some comedy so you’ll know I didn’t ditch you all! Well, back to the Blooms. They’re getting harder and harder to play and I’ll explain why at the end but I’ll try my best to get these chappies out for you!

Last time, lots of stuff happened. In all honesty even I forgot (and I’m too lazy to go check), so if you’d like a refresher find it here!

The beds were magically pushed together. Or that’s what Basil told himself anyways, after making sure to nudge it a centimeter closer to Aqua’s bed every night. He saw her do the same from the corner of his eye.

But don’t worry, it was all casual. Basil would tell Aqua about the fish he caught that morning and how much he earned per. Aqua would listen, trying to ignore the butterflies fluttering ruthlessly in her stomach.

Besides, who needed sleep when you had Basil around?

“Hi, it was my boyfriend’s birthday the other day and I wanted to get him something really nice. The problem is that I’m broke and I have 50 simoleons, what can I get here?”

“A shirt,” the lady sales responded tersely.

“A shirt? I was thinking you have an old guitar around or something?”

The saleslady laughed, “A guitar? Come back in 5 years with 300 simoleons and then we’ll talk! A guitar…” she chuckled.

“Well thanks for nothing,” Aqua mumbled as she stepped outside.

Aqua found Basil at the park and slipped into his arms. “Life if getting harder,” she sighed, “We’re not innocent little kids any more and we’re being treated like adults.”

Basil pulled her in closer, “I know how you feel. I remember when I used to get free cookies around here.”

“You know what I really want to do right now?” Aqua mumbled.

“Yeah, as a matter of fact, I think I do…”

“And it gets better every time.”

Caylee’s eating habits were quite… silly. One would call it silly.

After eating, Leah would clean her up and put her in bed daily.

Having a toddler around was great. It was a companion tat could fill up the missing place in her heart. Basil.

She would even get down and act like a toddler with Caylee, playing with the old dollhouse and pretending to be family.

“Hi Caylee, would you like to play?” Leah asked, mocking a man’s voice.

But Caylee was less than interested. She was curious, and the doll’s soft plastic was the only thing she was interested in.

“Leelee, de doll’s head taste like gummies!”

But after all, Caylee was only a toddler.

“Caylee, don’t chew on the plastic, it’s not good for you.”

“No! I want doll and I eat doll!”

“Don’t make me take your doll Caylee,” Leah warned sternly.

“NO NO NO!”

But in the end of the day, Leah was still just a teenage girl with a best friend and school.

And… homework.

The secret hideout was redone to fit her age; including videogames, a TV, a couch, and new  wall decor.

3-D videogames. Something Leah would never have dreamed of if she wasn’t taken in by the Williams.

“BOW DOWN TO LEAH THE INCREDIBLE!

“YOU STUPID PESANT, GET DOWN ON ONE KNEE OR IT’S OFF WITH YOUR HEAD!”

“Aqua come on, I’m hungry,” Basil complained.

“Oh hold on a minute, would you? Five more minutes.”

“In five minutes I’ll die of starvation!”

“Seriously, Basil? Cake?”

“I was dying,” he chuckled.

“You know when we get married you’re gonna have to pretend to like my food,” Aqua said with a playful smirk.

“Married, huh? Is that your proposal?”

“No, you still need to buy a ring.”

“As you wish, Aqua,” Basil said, leaning in to kiss her again.

“So this is our jackpot?” Aqua asked Basil

“Yes, the community garden. All we have to do is pick the vegetables and sell them.”

“So is this dinner or are we selling this?”

“Dinner. I want to try your salad tonight,” He replied, smiling at her.

“We can sell the onions though,” he muttered to himself.

As he picked vegetables, Aqua’s voice echoed in his head. You know when we get married you’re gonna have to pretend to like my food… you know when we get married….when we get married…married, married, married.

He looked over at her, casually picking bell peppers. Would I marry her?

Yeah, I think I would.

Later that day, Basil went to the trout hatchery to think. What Aqua had told him the night before was echoing in his mind, and he couldn’t make sense of it. He couldn’t make sense of his feelings. He loved her, he really did. And he always knew his future would be with her, but something was missing-something big. And he couldn’t figure it out.

“Shouldn’t the fish be at their prime right now?” Basil sighed, “Why the hell are they so small?!”

When his legs started cramping and his head started spinning, Basil sat down. He loved Aqua, and he wanted to marry her. Then why does it bother him so much that she wants to marry him? Then it hit him, both he and Aqua were moving on. And Leah was still out of the picture. The pair had practically forgotten about Leah. The problem was that Basil could never forget. His heart ached with emptiness every day and the thought of moving forward without Leah…

It scared him.

Seeing as the fish were bite-size, Basil returned to the garden to scout for more fruits.

"Excuse me,” called a voice from behind him.

Basil let the words slip out of his head.

“Excuse me sonny-” the voice said again.

“All of the volunteer programs have left. Are you with one of them? I can help you get back if you need help.”

“No sir, I’m here alone.”

“At dinner time? Aren’t your parents looking for you?”

“Sir, you look like a respectable man but I think the information you’re looking for is a bit personal.”

“I’m sorry, I don’t mean to be rude. I’m Richard McDonnell, the founder of Preserve History Farm, and I would love to have you working there.”

“A job? Keep talking…”

“Well you live and work on the farm as if it were the mid 1800’s. With a five year contract you get a home, food, and healthcare. When your contract is up you will have 20 thousand simoleons in the bank.”

Without hesitation, Basil announced, “I’ll get back to you!”

“Call me tonight, I’ll explain how it all works. But for now you should know that it’s a learning facility, for school kids. They come to learn what life is like in the 1800’s and you will show them.” Richard replied before leaving.

Basil returned  home to find Aqua alone at the table, eating cake.

“Given up on the salad?” He joked.

“We have too much cake in the fridge,” she retorted, “And I’m helping to get rid of it!”

“So uh, pack your stuff. We’re leaving tomorrow.”

“Leaving?! Basil what the hell did you do?!”

“Trust me, this time it’s ok.”

Basil gasped, the farm was beautiful. With a large smile creeping onto his face he looked over at Aqua, who couldn’t be any more disappointed. “A farm?! I don’t want to be a weird farmer girl!”

“Basil, Aqua, I’m so glad you came!” Richard enthused. Aqua still looked more than bored.

“I’ll get you all set up in your cabin. Remember there are cameras all over the facility and one in your living room, but the one in your living room will not stream live. “

“We’ll get you all dressed up and you’ll be set to go. This will be fun for you guys, I promise!”

After a quick makeover Basil and Aqua looked different, but still recognizable.

They were still as in love as ever, even if they were now living on a farm for the next five years.

That night, everyone in the farm sat around a firepit. Four of them. Only four.

“I would like to introduce you to my son Charles,”

“Say hi, Charles,” Richard hissed.

“I bunt ma tung! Cah meh Shar-lee,”

“Hi Charlie,” Basil said trying to refrain from laughing.

“Work starts tomorrow. I expect everyone to be out on the field.”

The teenagers were given work to do at night, as legally, Richard had to give them an education.

Basil took Richards words seriously, and headed to the field first thing in the morning.

Everyone was out on the farm, looking pretty for any potential schools to see them.

“This is really awkward.” Jackie whispered as she and Leah arrived.

They were at some sort of weird farm, only the top 5 honor students. It had taken three hours to get there and everyone was restless.

The most shocking of all the people there was Jack the jock. No one pinned him as the smart type. Matthew was there as well, being the school’s biggest computer nerd. And Ming, the quiet Asian girl that won all the math team’s medals.

“Don’t look now, but Jack is totally checking you out!” Leah murmured. “Plus, how cute is Jack and Jackie?”

“Funny,” Jackie replied, sitting down, “I saw Matt checking you out. Its so obv that he likes you!”

“He’s weird.” Leah responded.

“Good afternoon class,” called a voice from across the room, “I’m Richard, the founder of Preserve History Farm, I will be showing you around.”

“We opened just last month, and since then we have gotten new actors to take part in this fantastic experience. These young actors work here as if it were the mid 1800’s, and in return get shelter, food, and medical, service.”

“We’ve installed cameras in various trees for live screening of this experience. We have cameras installed inside the houses too, but since many things in the house are private, those videos are only shown on the TV’s.”

“Now, who’s ready to step inside?”

Leah and Jackie trailed behind the crowd, only hearing the echoes from Richard’s voice. The walls were lined with paintings of the farm.

Stopping in the TV room, the pair sat down and watched some footage of inside the house,

“I’d hate to live here,” Jackie announced, “It looks old and gross, plus they have to farm for a living! And jeex look at that scrawny kid! He’s not fit enough to farm all day.”

“And to think, no TV’s…no computers. No cell phones!”

“Here are the live cameras,” Richard announced after taking the class farther down the hall. “Here you will see some actors in action.”

"If I’m not mistaken, they should be working on the farms at this hour.”

“Look!” Jackie gasped, “One’s coming.”

“…and boy is he hot.”

He looks like…

He can’t be…

That’s not possible…

Leah rushed to the next window, finding a different angle on the boy.

There was no way that wasn’t Basil.

“Oh. My. Fucking. God.” Leah whispered.

“Leah what’s wrong?” she gasped, “I didn’t think you were capable of swearing!”

“That’s…that’s my brother…” Leah said in a daze.

Jackie laughed, “You mean the brother you never had? You’re delusional-”

“Listen to me!” she spat, “That’s him!  That’s Basil. My brother!”

“I think we need to take you to the bathroom,” Jackie sighed. Leah didn’t object.

“THATS MY BROTHER! I FOUND MY BROTHER!”

“Calm down. I get he’s hot but you’re delusional-”

“SHUT UP! Shut up and listen to me! I am not delusional and that’s Basil! That’s my brother!”

Jackie put on a plastered smile, “How about you tell me what’s going on in your head? I know you the best of all people, and you don’t have a brother.”

“No Jackie, you don’t know me at all! I never had a father, he lived in another town completely. My mother died from leukemia when I was six. We were sent to live with our dad. Me and my brother, Basil. He’s my twin! Basil and I hated Caleb. We hated being with him we hated looking at him! We ran away from home together and we met Aqua. Aqua was our best friend and one day she took me on a trip. I fell off a cliff somewhere far away and woke up in a hospital room with Jennifer telling me she’s my new mother. I didn’t want to be adopted but I had no where better to go so I just went with it. And now I have a family and a little sister but every night- every single night I dream about my brother!”

“Please believe me Jackie, please. I have to get to him. Please, Jackie!”

“Ok, I believe you. That story would be too hard to make up just for a hot guy.”

Leah scowled.

“I’m kidding, I’m kidding. Plus I think I know where the entry to the farm is. I saw a secret door…”

“Are you serious? That’s great!” Leah cried, pulling her friend into a hug.

“Try this door.”

“It’s locked!”

“That’s good, it means something important is back here. Don’t panic, I got this.”

That’s what being a girl scout is good for. With ease, Jackie picked the lock and the pair snuck into the farm grounds.

Leah could see him. In person. Her mouth went dry and her tongue knotted up in throat. She could hardly call his name.

But her legs? Her legs had other ideas. They pumped  as hard and as fast and they could, sending Leah flying towards her brother. “BASIL!”

Basil heard his name whoosh by him with the wind. He looked over and saw his sister- running towards him.

It wasn’t the first time he’d dreamed she came.

But this time something was different. Her hair wasn’t in the two side buns he was used to. And she had grown as tall as him. Something in his heart flopped and soon he was on the verge of crying.

It was real.

“Leah. It’s you.” He whispered to himself, his voice cracking and a tear streaking down his cheek, “It really is you!”

And when they met, no one said anything for four minutes. For four minutes they hugged eachother.

It was Basil who broke away and began talking, “Leah you look great!”

“Thanks,” Leah managed to say.

“How did you get here? Where have you been?”

“That’s a long story.”

“But it’s amazing to see you again. I hope there’s room for one more because I’m not leaving you again.”

“Of course there’s room! Oh my goodness, it’s so good to see that you’re ok. I had a  great feeling about being in a farm where schools come daily! I knew  I’d find you again!”

“Come with me, I know Aqua would want to see you again as well!”

***** ***** ***** ***** ***** ***** ***** ***** ***** *****

For the reset of the day, Leah didn’t leave Basil’s side. Her fishing skills needed brushing up, but it didn’t matter as long as she was around her brother.

That night during the campfire Basil pulled Leah next to him. “This is my sister Leah,” he announced, “I hope it’s ok that she joins us. She will join us.”

“Well, she’ll need to sign the contract. She can stay in the last cabin. We…” Richard said, trailing off.

“You’re that missing girl from today aren’t you?”

“Sir, I can’t loose her again. If she goes, so do I. Contract or not!”

“Well we can’t loose both of you, can we? Welcome to the family Leah!”

“We can get you all dressed up for the job later tonight-”

“Then Charlie here can get you all settled into the cabin.”

Charlie hadn’t said a word all night.

“I assume you know how it works around here? I explained it to you earlier today.”

“Yes sir,” she replied, hardly containing her excitement.

No cliffhanger today! Why? Because this is the last chapter of generation 2! Onto generation 3!

I never thought I’d say that. Especially since it takes me so long for these damned chapters. *sigh*

Now head on to the interview/ vote. For those of you who are undecided~ it’s time to decide! ~~Comment~~
