Prosperity Challenge - 10.6 (Days/Years 28-30 - Thigpen 2 and Lind)

I'm getting to that point where I'm anxious to be done with a round - I'm having fun playing round 11 and I want to get to blogging it!

Thigpen 2

Denae's quest to make friends was going smoothly. She usually had someone over every day after school - nearly always a boy. Denae hadn't gotten the knack of girls, yet.

She decided not to have a birthday party. She didn't like big groups, just spending time with other kids one on one. This birthday was a big one - finally she would be a teenager!

Her transition went smoothly, but she thought her look needed more pizazz.

One haircut and some time with her mother's lipgloss later, she felt ready to take on high school.

Denae wasn't the only one celebrating a birthday. Her dad, Emanuel, transitioned to elder right on the sidewalk after work one day.

He worried that he looked to old to be seen with her still youthful mother, but Denae assured him that his white hair and mustache merely made him look distinguished.

Gwen herself was rising through the ranks of Winterfell's political machine.

She was always supportive of Denae's ideas and listened to her problems, but the conversation always seemed to turn back around to her career. Denae didn't know what was so great about making money if you never got to have any fun.

She knew what she wanted to do with her life - play video games for a living. She'd heard that you could actually be paid to play and design games, and she fully intended to make that happen. She was born for the job.

Bonus:

Congratulations on cheating on all your girlfriends, Ian!

Lind

Melanie's life had taken a sudden turn for the unexpected. There she was, as usual, meeting interesting people and having good conversations and lots of woohoo, when she noticed something unwelcome. Having few female friends except for Shena Thigpen, who was too busy being the happiest newlywed in Winterfell to give her the time of day lately, she was forced to ask the maid for his opinion.

"Oh, you're pregnant all right," was his infuriating reply. Oh, well, what did a man know about it? She'd been very careful all these years - there was just no way.

Well, that was what she told herself until the day it could no longer be denied. She was not just getting a little fat. She was going to have a real live baby.

Thinking back, she had no idea who the father was. It didn't matter. None of the candidates seemed like daddy material. She wasn't sure she was mommy material either, but she was stuck with it. Man, spaghetti sure tasted good lately.

One morning, as she was going out to get the paper and feeling particularly fat and unattractive, she ran into Ian LeTourneau - one of the several candidates in the running for "who's the baby daddy?". The look on his face showed that he was well aware of the possibility. She tried to reassure him. "Don't worry, Ian, it's definitely not yours," she lied coolly. He shrugged and wished her luck.

It seemed the nonstop party that had been her life had come to an end. Men looked at you differently once you became a mother. There was nothing to do but stuff her face and wait for her little blessing to arrive.

Bonus(?):

So that's what the cow looks like under his suit. I was never quite sure he was actually male, since his name is Dorian.
