Robert Austen, up-and-coming star of The Regacy, called a press conference this afternoon in London upon hearing California courts have overturned the ban on gay marriage…
“This is, ah…something I have been considering for quite some time, and I feel that since Americans are finally coming out of their dark ages, I can be honest with myself and the world.”
“I’m gay.”
Women in the crowd actually cried out in horror, but some of the male reporters were seen handing their “business cards” to Mr. Austen shortly after the conference. In his closing statements, Mr. Austen stated,
“I feel as if it is very important for someone like me, a public figure, to put myself out there, and let everyone in this modern age know that it is OKAY to be different. By seeking marriage, the people of the LGBT community are not threatening YOUR marriages, or the sanctity of ANY marriage. We just want the same opportunities as everyone else, and if I want to walk down the runway in Vera Wang, then I will. Why is there hate for people like me, just because we don’t live up to your puritan expectations? This is 2010, not 1815, for crying out loud. Thank you. Questions?”
Some say it is a publicity stunt, but others insist upon the truth of this matter. Either way, we are sure Robert Austen's wife will have something to say on the matter.
