We all know each other on LJ. Some better than others. Sometimes, posts don't say everything about us. Sometimes we wonder if it would be rude to ask a personal question, so we don't. I'm probably in one of the best small cities I've ever visited already. At the furthest, I'm a little over an hour from: The nearest capital city (and also my favourite Australian capital city - you can take the girl out of Melbourne but you can't take Melbourne out of the girl :P), the nearest ski resort, some of the best beaches in the state, the lake district, the forest, as well as being about half an hour drive from my immediate family's homes (brother, sister, parents). Plus the weather here is great. Hot in summer, cold in winter. Not all of Australia is like that.
Though I think the north coast of NSW is very beautiful and laid back, I can't stand the humidity and lack of things like snow. I'd prefer to visit such places.
And though I adore New Zealand and vacation on the south island whenever funds allow, I imagine it would be too cold for me during the winter months. Though Australians have the ability to move to New Zealand, work there, etc. without usual immigration laws, I can't see myself being happy so far away from the people I love...
