Policy & Guidelines:
They're face templates, so a policy in general is very hard. However, there are sure to be people downloading something like face templates for the first time who will need to be told certain, should be obvious, truths.
1. These templates are the faces of sims belonging to your fellow simmers. Most of these simmers, myself included, have a NO TSR, NO PAYSITES and NO EXCHANGE policy for their sims. Therefore, I strongly advise people not to use randomly generated, unedited template sims from these templates as models or sims for download on the aforementioned sites.
2. It is not good form and is generally frowned upon in all decent simming circles to ever upload a randomly generated template sim and claim you made it yourself without working on a facial sculpt yourself to make that sim unique and therefore your own work. Uploading legacy spouses who are template sims is usually perfectly acceptable if they're popular in your posted legacy, however. I shouldn't have to say this, but it does still happen in the community, so I have.
3. Do not reupload these templates, either as individuals or in sets, anywhere! Don't claim you made them either. Most of these sims may not be my own but I worked very hard to make them in to templates! They are freely available on both my Livejournal and Dreamwidth. They're not going anywhere and they will always remain free. This doesn't apply to people whose sims I used for the project - you guys already know that it's okay with me if you upload your own sims' templates on your journals or similar with credit and a link back here for the rest of the templates.
4. One thing I would like to strongly point out is that I had written permission from each and every one of these simmers to use their sims for this purpose. If you're planning to make a set like this one, with faces by other simmers, you should most definitely gain their permission first. Some people will refuse you and they have every right to do so. It has been my privelege to work with other people's sims - NOT my right!
5. I'd like to stress that these face templates are in no way a replacement for the real sims by these simmers. Having other people's characters in your game is way more fun than having templates made from them. I fervently hope the sims used for these templates will continue to get as many downloads as they previously have and that the worst this project does is make those particular sims more popular for download, not less. Incidentally, I highly doubt that a sim using one of these templates would be Pixel Trade compliant.
And finally... If you find that I have made any mistakes in creating any of these templates (though I'm fairly sure I've caught and fixed any errors) please tell me about it right away so that I can fix it!
