Gameplay: September 9th 2010
Today I moved Jared Starchild in to his new home in Pleasantview's Bluewater Village district.
When we last saw him: He was far too engrossed in his pregnant fiance Sam to study, asked his best college buddy to move in so as not to let the house on campus go to waste, and was expelled from college.
Jared chose to buy a house in the outer suburb of Bluewater Village, where the country air would do his pregnant wife-to-be more good than the smoggy city air she was currently inhaling downtown. Besides, her house only had one bedroom - not enough space for a growing family! The house he purchased was quite run down on the outside, but inside it was rather decent. There was no time to waste. Sam could give birth any day now, and he wanted their baby to be born a Starchild.
Jared: "You're my whole world, Sam. I promise to always be there for you, through the good and the bad times."
Sam: "Awww, I'm glad you decided to write your own vows...."
And finally, Sam no longer had to wait. It was a lovely private backyard ceremony, spoiled only by Sam's formalwear not having a pregnancy morph. Hence the really high up picture. I don't like inconsistencies.
The two newlyweds got makeovers (and Sam immediately changed in to her everyday outfit after the ceremony, but Jared spent most of his wedding day in his formalwear.) Unlike in real life, where I'd disagree strongly with the idea, in the sims my married couples always try to please their partners' turn-ons and change their appearance for them. And so Jared's hair underwent the mother of all hair straightenings and a dye job, plus he bought a lovely new hat. Sam dyed her hair too and traded in her glasses for contacts, and I'm overjoyed with how cute she looks now!
Jared had always wanted a puppy, so he called the animal shelter and adopted little Jason. Now the dream is well and truly alive! Lovely and devoted new wife, the incoming arrival of their firstborn, a country house complete with picket fence and enough bedrooms for the family to grow. Jared is over the moon. What more could a family sim ask for?
Sam: Mmm, semi-naked man baking me cookies. Life is sweet!
Sam: "You know, you don't have to wear those little shorts while you eat on my account..."
Jared: "Eat naked? That's hardly hygenic!"
Sam: "Awww, c'mon...."
Jason is fascinated with the television. He spends half his time watching it!
Jared, why is that you want to study cooking now that you no longer need it to get through college? That cooking point was all you needed that final semester to scrape by!
Jared: "I didn't want to, okay? Besides, I didn't realize then how much cooking would come in handy. Now that I'm married, I want to learn to cook all of Sam's favorite dishes."
Awww, that's sweet....
Jason isn't housebroken yet...
Sam is quite houseproud and never lets the house stay even the slightest bit dirty...
Jennifer: "I don't get it. How does she get her hair so shiny? We have practically the same curls, so what gives?"
Poor Jennifer. Someday I'll have Pooklet'd hair replacements for your hair, I swear!
Sam's pregnancy seemed to last forever. For some reason, when she moved in with Jared, she reverted to being less pregnant. I think all up she was at least a day and a half late in giving birth....
.... but then, it finally happened!
It's a boy! Meet Murdoch. Sam's hair and eyes and a geneticized skintone (with freckles! Yay!)
Sam hired Calista to take care of Murdoch during her working hours, but for some reason Calista likes Murdoch so much that she showed up even though it wasn't during working hours. She clearly thinks he's the cutest baby in Pleasantview!
Jason: *bes afraid to go out in the hailstorm*
Brandi: "And you've gotta try the new gluten free diet for children when he's older! All the parenting magazines are raving about it!"
Heather: "Mmmm, gluten free...."
Sam: *tries not to show how overwhelmed by the advice of experienced mothers she is*
There's really no reason for this picture. I just liked it.
Now that he's a daddy, Jared is looking to enter the workforce. He's not sure what he'd like to do, but he thinks he'd either like to enter the culinary field so he can spend all his time with Sam or perhaps the oceanography field, as he is still very enthusiastic about anything even remotely related to nature. No promising openings in the classifieds thus far, however...
Sam is a wonderful mother. 90% of the time she's the one to give bottles and changings.
Murdoch is a very loved baby! Jared would spend every last simoleon on toys for him! And he almost has.... so hopefully he will enter the workforce soon so he's not spending all of Sam's paycheck on Murdoch.
