The Fennell Legacy: Generation 1: Chapter 16

Mar 28, 2010 00:17

In our last episode: Carrie started dating Humphrey on the side, had a secret rendez-vous with loverboy Shannon, and both gained and worked off some extra weight caused by too many restaurant meals.

Bryn was intent on mastering his new calling, and decided to set aside some time each day to study his chosen path of light.  However, he scorned the traditional warlock garb and opted for something with a little more flair.  Having lived with the unfair stigma attached to his alien heritage all his life, he was adamant in his quest to disprove yet another stereotype.

Carrie, confused and unsure about where her true affections lay, decided to spend a night in town without a date.  She'd heard that the newly opened business in town, the Legacyville Family Centre, featured an indoor ice skating rink and was extremely enthusiastic about trying her hand at any new hobby related to keeping in shape.  She had a marvellous time, though she was the only person making use of the rink.  It seemed nobody shared her interest in ice skating, but she had plenty of time to think.

Sonia: If I just stay real small and hide behind the bed frame, maybe he won't see me...
Overly Friendly Stranger Dog: "Hello!  Hi there!  Hello?  Hi!  Hi there?"

Bryn: "Wow, this thing is amazing!  Why did I never try it out before?"
I thought you said things like alcohol and bubbles killed brain cells....?
Bryn: "I said that?  No way.  You have me confused with someone else, lady!"

Filled to the brim with bubbly glee, Bryn felt there was nothing he couldn't do.  He drove over to The Little Green Diner to test that theory by hustling Sable.

She definitely had the upper hand and beat him easily.  Bryn was far too overconfident for a guy who'd never played pool in his life, but bubbles can do that to a man, so they say.
Barista: That guy is smiling an awful lot.  It's... not right...

He was persistent though, and challenged Hayley next.  This attempt was also dismally made of fail.
Bryn: What is it with all these girls being amazing at pool?  You'd think they didn't have homes to go to and just stayed here all the time practicing...

After two failed attempts, Bryn gave up and indulged in a smustling session instead.
Aimee: "This guy is kind of freaking me out..."
Yeah, sorry about that.  He doesn't really understand the concept of personal space between strangers today.  I blame the bubble indulgence.

Bryn's days of never leaving the house were most definitely dead and gone.  He invited his mentor Will out for some delicious baked alaska and a chat.
Bryn: "Scat!  We have serious warlock matters to discuss here."

Will: "Aww, look, a fox!  I wonder if I could make him my familiar..."
Audrina The Hostess: "What the hell?  Better call animal control.  This could turn in to a health and safety nightmare any second..."

Bryn was so impressed with his first ever taste of baked alaska that he decided to try making one at home.  All went well.  I've never yet had a sim with maxed cooking die the fiery baked alaska death.

Flannery Lundgren by jesstheex  dropped by to get in on the baked alaska action.  She seemed a little subdued and mysterious during her visit, however.  She ate alone, then spent the remainder of her visit running the obstacle course.  Apparently, she's a girl who knows exactly how many calories baked alaska contains!

That night, Bryn invited Natasha out to visit the new family centre with him.  They greatly enjoyed their time together, bonding over bowling, basketball and taking turns pushing each other on the swing set.  Poor Natasha.  It's too late now, but Bryn dotes on her so much that it's clear he wishes he'd made her heir instead of Carrie...

Josie: *works on millionth (yeah, I lost count - this is all she does anymore!) bestselling novel*
Sonia: Why doesn't Josie ever play with me?  What keeps her so mesmerized in that shiny box?  I wonder, if I go walk across the keyboard to get to her lap, will she notice me?

Carrie spent another night at home ignoring her beaux in favor of poring over shocking medical textbooks.  She justifies it to her parents by saying she's studying physiology, but I think we all know what she's really reading about in those books...

Bryn had started using magic to help those around him.  Every so often he would boost Josie's mood as she slaved away over her latest novel.  She never suspected that he was casting spells on her, but Bryn's tireless efforts kept her from getting too lonely to hold on to the threads of her storyline.

Bryn's hobbies kept him much occupied when he wasn't out and about or studying magic.  He and Carrie have been trying to mend the rift between them through after school jam sessions.

Bryn: "Oooh, I'm all sparkly and exciting!"

Grim: "Yeah, yeah, you sparkle.  Time to go, buddy.  I'm a busy man."
Bryn: "If those hula girls are meant to tempt me, it's not working.  I see prettier girls than that every day.  They're.... just not attractive enough to be tempting... can you make them look like Zooey Hart or something?"
That's right.  He still thinks about her.  He's been randomly heartfarting her ever since he met her, even though he's never, ever seen her again.

Grim: "Fine..." *hula girls' faces instantly morph to Zooey clones* "Now will you come?"
Bryn: "Hells yes!  Thanks, death!"

Bryn achieved so much during his lifetime.  He reached the top of his chosen career path, maxed out all his skills, raised two beautiful daughters, and became an infallibly good warlock.  Quite a life!  Seems he really did prefer Natasha over Carrie, but his will named Carrie as heir and heir she became.

Carrie: "I never even got to say goodbye.  Or tell him I was sorry for disappointing him as a daughter.  Oh, simgod.  Why did I have to be so stubborn?  There was so much I wanted to say..."
