My glasses have met their end. They were pretty much the perfect set of frames. I've had them for over 6 years. Round-ish frames with a saddle bridge. Most comfortable, best-looking pair of glasses I've ever had. Yesterday morning I took them off for minute and when I went to put them back on it looked like the screw at the right temple had come out. The frame had, in fact, broken right next to that point. A sad occasion, really. Although, they were rather old and in dire need of replacement. For at least the last year or so the frames have been corroding on my face. In the summer I will sometimes get green marks near my ears where the finish has worn off and the metal underneath corrodes. And I had to sand a few places down to keep from cutting me.
I'll need to get a replacement as I can't wear my contacts all the time. I'm awake too long on any given day and my eyes start to dry out. I'll probably end up getting some really ugly, cheap plastic frames from Costco as that's what I've got the money for right now.
