Several weeks ago we were out and about somewhere and I left Lexi in the van with the boys while I went inside whatever establishment it was to do whatever it was I was doing. Lexi came inside and I left her there to finish the transaction. When I got out to the van I opened the door and asked Eli how they were doing. Eli calmly replied that: "We are yelling and screaming."
Wednesday of this week was free day at the zoo, aquarium and exploratorium in San Francisco. As it has been raining for the last month we decided to go to the Steinhart Aquarium. The weather was actually nice and we could have gone to the zoo but stuck with the aquarium as planned. Lexi's Dad and sister also joined us there. Not as big as I was expecting. But to be fair I haven't been to an aquarium in quite some time and it might be suffering from the same perception troubles I have at Disneyland these days where everything seems so small to me now.
The boys enjoyed themselves. Eli was a bit freaked out by andything that was much larger than he was. They had some sea bass and gar that were quite large. Both boys liked the various turtles that were there. The tide pool petting area opened up just before we left. The boys were mildly interested but we had to practically drag Lexi's sister away from it.
All in all it was a nice trip. Not too crowded and thinning out as time went on. We had the better part of 4 hours scheduled to be there but could have been in and out in less than 3. Especially if I hadn't been trying to give my father-in-law directions. He drove straight to where the aquarium used to be. He knew right where that was. Just a little more trouble getting to where we were at.
