Wells in the Second Round: Sparks BACC

Oct 13, 2023 10:07

Hello, it's been a little bit after a good burst of updates. But my dogs got sick (they're all better) and I lost my job. I thankfully just got hired for a new job! I'm finally feeling good enough to play and take pictures. So we're back with the Wells!

The Wells joined Daniel's cousin Sarah in founding Sparks Grove. Daniel wants to be a farmer and own his own garden stand. His wife Vanya is hoping to hone in her pottery skills. They brought their daughter, Billie, with them and also gave birth to little Hailey last week. With no other kids in the neighborhood, Billie spends most the time with the family's cats, Clementine and Moonshine. She eventually wants to be Captain Hero. But with no one to save in their little town, she's not sure if her dream in obtainable.

Vanya couldn't help but give a sigh of relief it was winter. There was very little they could do in the garden and she would have time to work on her pottery skills at last. Though she was feeling a little queasy. The thought of another baby was exciting. Even with it would mean another mouth to feed with their limited resources.

With the garden on pause, Daniel was more than willing to help out with Hailey. He was hoping their family would continue to grow. He felt bad that Billie had so few playmates. He hoped having a little sibling would be easier for Hailey.

Clementine was a very special cat sent by Pony to keep an eye on things in Sparks. This was her first time watching over a family. And she wasn't sure if she was doing all the right things. It was a lot of hard work, but she really like spending time with Billie.

Daniel and Vanya made the most of the lack of snow so far. Vanya was handling her pregnancy well enough to spend some time on the pottery wheel. While Daniel dug for treasure before the ground froze.

Little Hailey's birthday was Monday night, Billie kindly did the honors for her baby sister. Hailey clapped her hands excitedly, she was finally big enough to go to school.

Hailey was too scared to sleep in the back bedroom alone. Billie kindly offer for her to share the front bedroom for a few days.

Daniel made sure to make more time to reach out to Sarah and Talin. He had a tendency to get wrapped up in his own stuff, but that needed to change.
"How about when the weather warms up, we get the kids together?" He offered.
"Sounds great! I would love for them to be friends."

Billie decided that she needed a more adult look. With her mom's help, she was able to tame her wavy hair and tried out a little make up.

Snow finally started falling. Daniel went ahead and starting fertilizing the soil. He was so ready for spring, even though he knew the kids would enjoy the snow.

Like her big sister, Hailey begged her mom to do her hair. She liked her braids, but wanted to look more grown up. She loved her new braids.

"Daniel!!!" Vanya cried when the labor pains hit her in the shower.

"It's a boy!" Daniel blinked in amazement.
"You can have boys, Daniel." Vanya laughed softly. "What should we name him?"
"How about Danny?"
"Billie, Hailey, and Danny? I think we have a theme." Vanya shook her head. "Let's do Daniel Jr. And we can still call him Danny while he's little. He does look like you."
"Okay, that works for me." Daniel agreed. He wasn't the conceited type, but if his wife wanted to name his son after him, he wasn't going to argue. As far as he was concerned, Billie was his heir if she wanted to be.

Daniel was exhausted and went back to bed. Vanya fed Danny his first meal. She couldn't help but want another one already. She always wanted a big family, and they were never little long. Daniel was a half family sim, maybe he wouldn't mind having a few more. They did need to build up an entire city after all. And he would need help in the garden.

Danny wasn't the only new arrival. Clementine gave birth to her own baby boy. Billie immediately named the kitten Yukine.

Clementine knew her primary duty would be to the main household. But soon Billie would move out. She didn't want her girl braving the big world by herself. Yukine wouldn't exactly be a guardian, but he would keep Billie company.

While waiting to plant, Daniel made some improvements to the yard. He dug in the frozen ground to make a pond. Fish would be good for filling up the fridge and everyone in the family could enjoy it. And the lady bugs would make sure they could keep the bugs under control.

Since Billie didn't have any friends her own age, she would often call her Uncle Talin and Aunt Sarah to chat. They were happy to entertain her.

"There's still so much snow on the ground. I hope we can start planting tomorrow," Daniel fretted. "I'm worried about the tree too. We need a good harvest so we can finally buy land for the stand."
"It's going to be okay, the ground's thawed enough we can dig for some extra funds. We need to for the house anyways." Vanya tried to assure him.
"You're right, and I know Sarah said she had to plant a little late," Daniel sighed. It was hard not to worry.

Vanya decided her family needed a hot meal. They had been relying on leftovers most of the winter. Her girls weren't making friends at school, and her husband was worried. There was nothing better than a hot meal to make everything better.

It was the first time since moving that they were really able to sit down and have a family meal.

"Thanks for dinner Vanya, it hit the spot," Daniel said softly. "And dessert wasn't bad either."
"You're welcome." Vanya couldn't help but grin.

Daniel made sure his wife wasn't the only one up in the night with Danny. She was really just amazing.

Dessert hit Vanya hard the next morning. She would have to let Daniel know. It was a little close to have Danny to have another. She hoped he would be happy.

It was Billie who brought it all together for the week. She was able to find a buried treasure chest Friday morning. They now had enough funds to purchase a lot in the town center.

First things first though, getting the spring crops in the ground. Over the winter, Daniel was able to acquire some strawberry, pepper and eggplant seeds.

The stand was starting small. But Daniel was hopeful for its success.

Billie was happy to cover the register as long as she got to meet any teens that stopped by.

Daniel was really surprised when Skout's Hill residents started coming by right away.

Maddie Pons even claimed she was a reporter for the Skout's Hill tribune.

Darkness fell shortly after they setup. Right when the tomatoes started selling.
"Billie you okay to stay a little longer?"
"Yeah Dad, let's see how many we can sell!" Billie grinned. They had a hundred tomatoes. And she didn't have school the next day. Maybe they could sell them all.

"This is a great start, Mr. Wells, I'm going to recommend you for the Best of the Best Award for Skout's Hill and Sparks Grove. It should help you get some people out here," Maddie smiled.
"Thanks so much!" Daniel stammered, she had lingered for a few hours, and never bought anything, but clearly they made an impression.

They stay longer than he intended. But Billie insisted she was fine. They quickly rose the business to level one after Maddie left. He bought a shelf for the produce instead of setting it on the ground. They only sold about eight tomatoes. But he was hopeful for the future.

"Thanks for the help, sweetie. I know it's tough out here for you."
"No prob Dad." Billie replied. "I'll make friends soon enough. Don't worry about me."
"We're gonna get your cousins out here tomorrow. It'll be good that you guys get to know each other."

Danny had a birthday just in time. He turned out to be the cutest little Gemini.

Toddler training began right away. Vanya wanted to do her part before her pregnancy forced her on bed rest.

When the sims slept, the cats played. Moonshine spent some time with his tiny son.

The house wasn't quiet for long, the newest little Wells was craving a late night poptart.

Daniel taught Danny to walk the next morning. Though he noticed his young son squinting a bit to see him. They had gotten Hailey some glasses. It looked like Danny would need them too.

The girls were out in the garden early. The sooner the chores were done, the sooner the Sparks could come over.

"What's up Aunt Sarah?" Billie finger gunned.
"What was that?" Sarah laughed. "It's good to see you Billie, you guys are growing so fast!"

Even little Robyn was brought along. Though he was more interested in meeting Clementine rather than his cousins.

"Aww, Talin we need one of these." Sarah managed to find baby Yukine.
"I agree, but maybe a puppy."
"Or both!"

"Hi I'm Hailey!"
"Leo Sparks."
"Do you maybe want to play?"
"That sounds fun!"

Daniel whipped up a quick lunch for everyone.

Vanya managed to get out of bed long enough to have a chat with Sarah.

Sunday, Daniel and Billie went back up to Wells Sprouts to see what they could get done for the day.

As soon as Daniel flipped the sign around, the customers started coming. This time a mix of Skout's Hill and Pleasantview residents.

"Sarah, you don't have to buy my tomatoes, you can just ask." Daniel said when his cousin arrived.
"I have plenty of tomatoes, I just want to make sure I'm supporting Sparks' first business. You can even expand into groceries in time." Sarah looked excited.
"That's true, though I want to focus on produce."
"You can make this whatever you want. It'll be great. Maybe with somewhere to get some food, we'll get some new residents."
"I'll keep my fingers crossed."

While they only sold eighteen tomatoes, they made close to twelve thousand in grants for getting the business up to rank three. Daniel ordered two retired shipping containers. And with some creativity they managed to melded them together into a store.

They got home just in time to celebrate Yukine's birthday!

And also Daniel found himself tackling a honey do list. He was tempted to use some of their money to upgrade the master bath. But they needed the upstairs finished more.

They moved the girls to the back bedroom and gave the smaller front bedroom to Danny. The toddler's toys were out of the living room now. The next step would be adding in proper closets to the kids' rooms.

The second floor was starting to take proper shape. They ran out of funds to finish the siding and the second floor had no floor and was still stairs to nowhere. But progress was being made.

Billie rolled the want to teach Yukine to shake, so Sunday afternoon she did just that.

Shortly after dark, Vanya felt so familiar pains. But it was too early.
"Daniel!" she shouted.

Thankfully he was nearby. "You're not supposed to go into labor until tomorrow!'
"I know, the baby is coming early!" She gritted her teeth through the pain.

Before she knew it, perfect Maddie was born. Her first daughter with black hair.
"Take her Daniel, I still feel weird."
"Are you okay?"
"I don't know."

The labor pains started again almost immediately. For the very first time, Vanya was scared to have kids so far away from any hospitals.

Soon she had another healthy little girl in her hands. For once she couldn't immediately think of a name.
"Call her Lily." Billie said softly.

"Twins, I would have never guessed." Daniel said with a sigh. After the scare, they got the girls fed and sent the older kids to bed. He was relieved to see Vanya resting.
"I'm so thankful they're healthy." Vanya replied, her voice weary and full of emotion.
"Honey, I know you want ten kids, but maybe we should stop. I don't want to loose you. And we have five wonderful kids." Daniel said laying next to his wife.

Vanya snuggled up against him. Her eyes were tired and achy like she had been crying.
"I don't want to leave you or the kids. I want more, but I agree, I'll wait." Vanya burrowed her head into his shoulder.
Daniel stroked her hair, part of him knew she was determined to finish out her dream of having a massive family. He liked the thought too, but it was not worth the risk of losing her."

So that's it for the Wells. I have lots of thoughts. Delicious thoughts.

So Vanya rolled the want for ten babies. And of course my chaos side is like yes do it. But my logical thinks I'm being silly. So I locked the want and am going to let ACR decide.

I did make the twins come early because I didn't want to wait until the next week. But I waited until after six so they would be the same age as when they were supposed to be born.

I feel really bad for Billie, there have been no teen walkbys at all, she's definitely alone out her. So hopefully next week she can make some friends. She is a popularity sim and her only friends are the cats.

I'm beginning to think my mod for bringing friends over might be broken, because no one has brought a friend from school yet.
