I’m busy customising my LJ, because that’s more fun than either wading through pages of useless and poorly-written LJ API documentation or starting the notes for the plan for the history essay due in tomorrow.
Anyway, so I’m looking through the themes and I am immediately grabbed by
Tranquility II

XHTML/CSS Compliant layout. Relax.
w00t. LJ may be less crap than I initially thought...
So, some ninja CSS editing later (because I wanted the page white and the column red, and I cannot live without font-variant: small-caps;) a I decide to test this claim of a ‘XHTML/CSS Compliant layout’.
Here’s the result for xHTML: clicky

Notice the FAT RED ERROR MESSAGES ON BOTH PAGES.
Turns out that LJ decided to wang ‘XHTML/CSS Compliant layout’ on this layout without actually testing it. Consideringly how eye-bleedingly easy the errors would be to fix (a tiny bit of PHP at the top of the index page) this is pretty appalling. LJ, I am ashamed. You’re a fat liar. Get off my internet.
