As I posted last night, I am 6 pounds lighter. I couldn't be happier at the moment. I've been a little nutty and weighing myself almost daily so I really need to make an effort this week to slow it down.
I really am proud of myself, though, for being so dedicated to the gym. I've been to the gym 4 times this week and have alternated workouts to challenge my body.
Additionally, during the break, I set a goal for myself to eat a healthy breakfast every single day. I am thrilled to say that I have succeeded and created a much healthier meal plan all around.
Sample Day:
Breakfast -- Homemade, stove top oatmeal (1 cup) with sliced bananas, cinnamon and sweet & low to replace sugar
Morning Snack -- Fat free, sugar free jello mixed with fruit (raspberries in a cherry jello are my FAVORITE thus far)
Lunch -- Chicken salad (made with low fat mayonnaise) on whole grain bread
Afternoon Snack -- Chopped apple with cheese (75% reduced fat sharp cheddar)
Dinner -- Grilled (or baked) skinless chicken with various seasonings (I have really been working to cut out the sauces -- that's where all of the calories are!!)
Furthermore, I have succeeded in cutting soda out of my diet for the most part. If I find myself really craving it, I'm not going to necessarily say no, but I will definitely not drink the entire 20oz bottles that I have been known to down in one sitting in the past. This week, I've had 1/2 a glass of root beer and that was it. Not to mention, my water intake has gone through the roof. I'm definitely exceeding my recommended daily serving by always carrying around my water bottle with me and what I am loving is that some of the kids at work (from all grades!) are helping me to decorate my bottle and are disappointed when I don't have it with me.
I guess this is real this time. I'm going to do this. I AM DOING THIS.
