She's Alive!!!

So, I'm back from Burning Man (absolutely blissful, other than packing up in a dust storm) and ready to start back to school tomorrow. Life is certainly crazy. I am posting right now to ask something of a favor. I am walking in a Breast Cancer 3 day walk, 3 days x 20 miles a day = 60 miles. That's a lot of walking. I need to raise $2000 to participate and right now I am hovering around $300, I have a LONG way to go. So I need some help. I am doing this because a wonderful, very dear friend of mine was diagnosed with breast cancer about 6 weeks ago. Breast cancer has been a recurring theme in my life and I am tired of it. Nine women in my family are survivors, one family member was also diagnosed recently and the prognosis isn't too good. There are a lot of diseases that need research money and this is one of them. I feel desperate in this, as though I am trying to beat a clock, my own destiny, the destiny of my mother or my grandmother (both her sisters and her mother survived) or even my sisters some day. I am doing this walk because I am selfish. Because I can't handle watching another person I love being sick. I can't handle watching another child lose a mother, another family destroyed. I don't want this to be me someday. Please. Take a look at this website and if you are able to give, even $5 or $10 would really make a difference.

And, if you would like to put a link on your website or journal (Like Lisa did) I would be most grateful. $2000 is the minimum I can raise to participate in the walk but I would love to raise more.

If you donate and would like space on my tshirt for a company or website logo, a photograph of someone to be honored or the name of someone to be honored, let me know. If you donate, please let me know so that I can check to make sure it was credited to my account.

Thank you all for your efforts.
Sara
