Haruka smiles.

He always looked so cute when he blushed. The way the crimson hue emerged upon his light brown skin and how his head turned to the side bashfully was too adorable. His obsidian eyes shifted in every possible direction with the exception of her, not quite ready to meet her own cerulean ones. It was hard for Haruka to supress a giggle, but she managed to do so anyway.

Whatever happened to the fearless, bold Satoshi, one of the greatest Pokemon masters the world has ever known?

He must've been thrown out the window aparently, only to be replaced by a sweet, confused schoolboy. How ironic. But then again, she remembers the words of her mother.

Everyone has a side of them that they only show to the one they love.

Her smile widens.

"Saa, why did you drag me outside, ne Satoshi?" she asks.

Haruka already knows the answer. She knew love when she saw it; she was a born romantic and a skilled matchmaker by heart. She saw the signs and knew what to look for. Well...so maybe it took a while longer to figure out those signs were directed to her. She realized when Masato so blatantly blurted it out to her. Her own brother knew before her.

How embarrassing.

Haruka shoved those thoughts aside, concentrating on the person before her. His blush seemed to spread at the mere sound of her voice, reaching all parts of his face like that of a dangerous wildfire. It was satisfying to Haruka to know she had such power.

"H-H-Haruka..."

This was rare. Satoshi barely stutters, and when he does it doesn't take him too long to voice his words out. But Haruka just keeps smiling, patiently awaiting what he has to say.

"I...I...um..." Haruka sees him figeting with his fingers. "I...I have...s-something to tell...you."

Satoshi looks up briefly, his eyes meeting with hers for a fleeting second. He sees her gentle nod, encouraging him to continue. He gulps.

"I...I...Haruka, I..." He pauses, feeling his sweat attempting to cool his face and hands. It didn't work, of course. Satoshi can't remember when he was ever this nervous. He felt that facing a gym battle, meeting a legendary pokemon, or even saving the world paled in comparison of saying three little words.

Haruka moves closer to him, just until their foreheads touch ever so slightly, like a butterfly descending onto a leaf. It was light, but it triggered a surprising shock between them both.

She holds up a finger to his mouth while placing a grin on her face, which surprises Satoshi.

Softly and slowly, she whispers to him, "I know, Satoshi. And...I love you too."

Their lips met. How--neither of them knows. But they don't care. The kiss lasts for a few seconds, but then it seemed like eternity. When they parted, their foreheads remained touching, allowing them to breathe in each other's breath and scent. It was intoxicating.

What they shared expressed more than words could ever tell. But he still wanted to say it anyways.

"I love you, Haruka."

And this time, he didn't stutter.
