Team Scorpion

I've kind of stumbled and fallen in love with . I have to watch it a day later because it's on opposite Sleepy Hollow, but I don't mind...although it's killer waiting until Monday night for a download so that I can watch it Tuesday after Forever or on CBS.com. Though, when I watch it not live, I'm stuck waiting until the following week for the next episode, like everyone else, but I want it now so that I can watch without commericals.

Basically, if you don't know what the show is about, this is it (taken from wikipedia):

Inspired by a true story, eccentric computer genius Walter O'Brien and his team of brilliant-minded outcasts cannot function normally in society. One day they are recruited by federal agent Cabe Gallo of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security when a serious problem arises. Even though O'Brien and Gallo have history, he and his friends agree to help solve the problem and ultimately become the last line of defense against complex, high-tech threats around the globe.

This team of masterminds is codenamed Scorpion, which includes O'Brien, one of the smartest persons in the world with a 197 IQ and his friends (as Agent Gallo describes them), Sylvester Dodd, a "human calculator" dealing in statistics, Happy Quinn, a "mechanical prodigy" and Toby Curtis, a "world-class shrink" (a Harvard-trained behaviorist). Paige Dineen is a former waitress whose interaction with people translates the real world to them; they, in exchange, translate her young mentally gifted son, Ralph, to her.

It's got a great cast:

Elyes Gabel as Walter O'Brien, a genius who in the pilot is struggling to keep his small company Scorpion afloat. He leads a team of his genius friends to help solve complex problems. O'Brien also shares a past with Agent Gallo who brought him to America after Walter hacked into NASA computers and then worked with him for several years. Walter split with Gallo around age 16 when 2,000 civilians were killed after the U.S. bombed Iraq using software Walter provided.

Katharine McPhee as Paige Dineen, a single mother of a 9-year old boy. In the pilot, she is a struggling waitress who meets Walter and his team when they enter her diner to fix a problem with air traffic control. She thinks her son is challenged, but she learns from Walter that he is really a genius. In the pilot, Walter offers her a job with his company to help them interact with normal people.

Robert Patrick as Agent Cabe Gallo. Gallo is a special agent with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. He was the one who brought Walter over from Ireland and then worked with him for several years. They had a falling out when Walter was 16 over civilian casualties during an attack on Iraq. In the pilot, Gallo recruits Walter and his team to help the government fix a serious air traffic control problem and then asks Walter and his team to join him on a special government team to tackle difficult problems that arise like stolen nuclear weapons and similar issues.

Eddie Kaye Thomas as Toby Curtis, a genius behaviorist who can easily read people. He has a gambling problem that gets him into trouble.

Jadyn Wong as Happy Quinn, a genius mechanical engineer who can fix anything. She's the sole female genius of the group.

Ari Stidham as Sylvester Dodd, a genius statistical guru who also has OCD and anxiety.
I've already got my favorites - character and couples!
Favorite character: Happy Quinn
Favorite couple #1: Walter O'Brien/Paige Dineen
Favorite couple #2: Toby Curtis/Happy Quinn

I can't remember the last time I had favorite HET SHIPS! Maybe CSI: Miami? Like I said, I can't remember.

But god, a lot of the reviews of it, the first episode at least, was that the show sucked and would be canceled. Then I read that the ratings for yesterday's episode were such that it should at least get 9 episodes for CBS to further see how it does. I hope CBS gives it a shot.
