summer
is it crazy that i have had such little desire to have contact with the outside world since i've been home? by outside world, i mean anything besides the people here in Brent and whatever news i get via tv and internet. i've thought for days that i should probably call jenn or skye, go to birmingham for a visit...but instead, i sleep 10 hours a night, get up, watch tv, eat breakfast and lunch, clean a little around the house, water the grass, run/exercise...
my job at the church (child and youth intern) won't start officially until after June 8 because the church has to vote on me at a business meeting, and the next one isn't until then. i don't mind, i get a month of nothingness, and then i'll make $1400 in 8 weeks, 20 hours per week. i'm going to assist with youth worship on wed. nights, teach a different child/youth sunday school class each sunday morning, lead a girl's dicipleship group (i get to pick the topic and curriculum, but he said that purity was something they've been dealing with a lot this year, and that excites me because of the DN i did with SWAT last year that really taught some valuable stuff), and go on 1 trip (most likely to charleston, SC for 10 days in June, i've never been there). i'm looking forward to it all, just hope something out of the ordinary doesn't happen, like me not being confirmed by the church.
on a positive note, my grades at the end of the semester from hell, the craziest semester i've ever dealt with and the biggest test i've ever tried to pass - 2 A's and 2 B's...:o) i did a little dance...i was afraid of a C in there somewhere.
my cousin was in a car accident today. it wasn't too serious, but she broke her leg really badly in at least 6 places and totaled her car. she's having surgery tomorrow in Tuscaloosa. i'll probably get babysitting duty for her 2 year old at some point which will be fun. just thank God the baby wasn't in the car.
and i'm a big fan of the new Jergens natural glow lotion...just note that it does have a hint of sunless tanner in there, so it reacts with your skin like so and so it makes your skin smell like sunless tanner for awhile...however, i figured out that bath and bodyworks body spray fixes that problem! haha
i want to see Monster-in-law.
i deposited $482.00 into my account yesterday, and then got a refund of my deposit from GA Power for $122.00. I'm still waiting on my deposit from Craig Massee Reality - they'd better give it to me. looks like buying the Apple Powerbook won't completely wipe me out at the end of the summer afterall!
