Let me sing you a waltz / Out of nowhere, out of my thoughts / Let me sing you a waltz / About this one night stand / You were, for me, that night / Everything I always dreamt of in life / But now you're gone / You are far gone / All the way to your island of rain / It was for you just a one night thing / But you were much more to me, just so you know / I don't care what they say / I know what you meant for me that day / I just want another try, I just want another night / Even if it doesn't seem quite right / You meant for me much more than anyone I've met before / One single night with you, little Jesse, is worth a thousand with anybody / I have no bitterness, my sweet / I'll never forget this one night thing / Even tomorrow in other arms, my heart will stay yours until I die / Let me sing you a waltz / Out of nowhere, out of my blues / Let me sing you a waltz / About this lovely one night stand
For anyone who knows where this is from: This is not a song that can be picked apart. Every lyric is unimportant on its own but important to the song as a whole. This is very different from most songs out there. This one tells a story. Most songs generally have 2 or 3 good lines and then a catchy but meaningless chorus. This is why I hate it when someone posts an entire song but never tells the people reading their entry which lines are the meaningful ones to them (I realize that I have done this in the past and from now on I will stop it). Just fucking post the important lines and tell us why they're important. I don't want to read and entire sheet of music just to get to one line. Just give me the one fucking line! For example, I once posted a set of lyrics that I were meaningful and important to me at the time yet I never took the time to truly highlight the important lyrics, so I will do that now for one of them:
Have You Ever
by Incubus
Unabashed honesty
would be ideal
but a prophet did once say
that honesty is a lonely word
This was important to me because I thought that even though something was difficult to say it was best to be honest. However, as the lyric mentions this is a common decision made by lonely people.
