It was a warm, sunny, quiet day today. Marty and I went shopping for groceries in the morning hours, and went to Food Co. I call it "the scary store" because it's usually full of the oddest conglomeration of people, but today the crowd seemed comparatively "normal". Oh, we DID see one woman stopped at a traffic light in front of Rite Aid who was screaming on her cell phone so loudly everyone in the intersection could hear her... and when the light changed, she went screaming and yelling down the road. It made us kind of sad: what a horrible way to live and express yourself; and how must the person on the other end of that
call felt?
Anway, we filled the grocery cart up with food, and yet got out of there for only a little over $100. That made me feel good. The trick is getting the food to last all month, though! I still haven't quite figured that out; it seems like we run out of everything during the last week... Anyway, when we got home Marty helped me unpack and put away most of the groceries (except for the stuff I wanted to divvy out myself into freezer bags), and then I made us a lunch of broiled ribs and a 'gratin potatoes with watermelon for b'zert. We ate that while we watched "Shaun of the Dead", and then we both took a nap. I slept for about 2 hours with Sergeant Margie next to me... so nice... Just a quiet day.
From Mark Jr: I've been accepted at another "old people's" home and should be able to get by for less than 500/month, rent and utilities. I don't have the view, crap, but I will be on the 2nd or 3rd floor. It's clean and on main street, whoo-hoo. Melissa is sort of happy, I don't know why she wants me here.
I told Mark that Lissa wants him there because he's her touchpoint for reality and humanity right now. (And he'll probably be the YOUNGEST old person in the "home"! Hah!)
