So here is the skinny

I'm in Indianapolis, at my grandparent's place. We're going to see my six week-old cousins tomorrow. I'm stoked. They're beautiful, I might draw them.
I am going to start drawing a lot more because after the visit out here and Chicago, I've decided I am headed to either:
Columbia College Chicago
UMASS at Amherst
Hampshire College

I'm super motivated after walking through galleries and studio rooms.
I want to do peices of my family.
I keep on looking at the photos I've seen a million zillion times, because now I'm seventeeen and I can appreciate them. I can love a photograph of my Uncle Freddy walking down the streets of Chicago looking like a Hispanic Blues Brother because he's carried on that proud strut into post-middle age.
I love looking at my movie star grandmother, who was once petite and lovely with her Mary Tyler Moore Flip-Do and her high cheekbones she's past down all the way down to us. Our jaws square more like our grandfather, and our lips are full like his. Even in his wedding photo, Abuelo slouched slightly at the shoulders, and only recently I've realized what a not-so-giant man he is. With his larger than life persona, when I was small, and I saw pictures of him and my tiny grandmother, I thought him a giant. Now he's quieted, and he's got the old-man cheese, and he's somber from his brother's death, and his best friend's stroke, and his newfound connection to Eastern religion.
I love visiting. I keep on connecting, here.
