so, i'm just kinda blah today.
it's officially the in-between mark for nanoedmo and i'm only at 22.5 hours, roughly. and omg, i can't stand this novel anymore. i can't take editing it, it's so baaad.
(a few months from now it may not be as bad, but i think this is partially cause the novel needs a lot of work and partially because i've read through this thing like three or four times.)
so i propose a question: how do you edit?
i know a bunch of you are writers out there -- as cate so eloquently put, over half of you. do you spot-edit? check for grammars and typos? do you fix holes in plot or character? do you completely re-write, use the first draft as an outline? what do you all do?
i feel like i'm at my wits end and i'm just at a dead-end for this novel. and it's not the novel. it's me. goddammit.
