How's Stardust??? I haven't read anythign by Gaiman yet.
I've read Jinx...I didn't care much for it although it was entertaining.

honestly, i was underwhelmed. very underwhelmed. i liked the writing style and everything, but the story was very under...yeah. that's kind of a vague review.

i was kind of "meh" about it as well.

The whole thing was very weak. I expect so much of Meg Cabot..and suddenly I read Jinx...and it was just so very...not.

It was okay for me. Much better than Jinx but it wasn't too memorable to me overall.

What else by Cabot is good? I've read her Boy Next Door ones...I haven't read the Princess Diaries...I don't know why I haven't. I loved her Mediator and 1-800 ones (as Jenny Carroll). Now if only she could do more of those....

the sequel was a little less fabulous. i just read it last night. i'm looking forward to the end of the trilogy in june though.

i liked cabot's "how to be popular." cute, fluffy, plot may have been a bit obvious, but i liked it.

i lost interest in the princess diaries series about three books in. i just couldn't take anymore whining.

anyways, good news regarding the mediator and 1-800 series, cabot has plans to write more paranormal teen series. from her website: "Her new teen paranormal series, Abandon, will debut in Summer 2009."

*gasp* New paranormal series?! Oooooh. I really really loved her 1-800..it was the first stuff I read of her (before I even knew Carroll was Cabot) and I just totally loved it. Did you read that series? I didn't care for the 5th book...it "tied" it up too obviously and it fit, I suppose...but eh...too quick I guess.

well, considering that it was supposed to be an eight book series, i'm glad we got some closure no matter what.

(i've read just about everything by cabot. i love meg.)

Was it supposed to be 8? What made her decide to not continue? Was the Mediator supposed to be longer too?

As with The Mediator, I originally planned 1-800-Where-R-You as an 8 book series. The publisher who bought the rights only wanted 4 books, though, and when those didn't end up selling well, that publisher chose not to buy my proposal for the next four books in the series after the publication of SANCTUARY, effectively ending the series in what I considered the middle of it! I was pretty bummed, as you can imagine.
