Notes On Guy
- Here’s your warning: Guy is an ass. If he doesn’t like your character he’ll be rude, he’ll be crude and he’ll be mean. He’s usually at least rude to a character no matter what unless that character manages to catch his interest, then he’ll level out into just crude. Please don’t take it personally, it’s just how he is.
- Guy’s real name is Yves, but he never goes by it. The only people who do know it are his best friend (abit_unsettlin) and his girlfriend, Irina (irinavolchitsa). His best friend doesn’t have a name. Guy calls him Anonyme, which is French for anonymous, but usually just refers to him as “my friend”. He uses the last name Ardennes because it is the region of France where he was born.
- He is a werewolf. Every full moon he turns into a half-wolf half-human monster who is vicious and blood thirsty. He has no control over this transformation and it is very, very painful. When in his werewolf form he doesn’t know reason and really likes to kill. Don’t approach him unless you’re part of his pack.
- He was born before the Black Plague and his pack was killed before it. He was roughly fifteen when one of his older brothers slaughtered his whole pack. He was out hunting rabbits when this happened and came home right towards the end of it. His brother tried to kill him too, but Guy managed to escape. He has wandered the world without a pack ever since.
- Like previously stated, Guy was born in the Ardennes region of France long before that area got the name. It is his pack's home territory but after their deaths, he left and rarely goes back. He is 100% French, but after all the years of wandering around he sounds fairly English, something like a British accent but almost fully Americanized. He doesn't like being in his country of origin because of bad memories, but he has dual citizenship with the US and France.
- Only recently did Guy get the nerve up to actually kill his brother once and for all. He didn’t face his brother straight on either. He got a very good rifle and sniped his brother from a distance. After his brother was dead, Guy killed the rest of his pack with his friend. He still has not returned to claim his pack’s traditional territory.
- For years the only person Guy considered as part of his pack was his best friend, Anonyme. While he doesn’t admit it out loud to anyone, Anonyme is also his mate. The two have known each other for centuries and over those centuries they’ve developed a bond that goes deeper than friendship or even love. He cannot exist without his friend. If his friend died, Guy would get himself killed.
- Recently, however, Guy has taken in a female werewolf, Irina, and her male cousin, Petya (petyaisthewolf). Their pack was also killed by his brother and Guy feels a sense of responsibility to them. They treat him as their alpha and he is getting used to them being his new pack and his new role as alpha.
- He drinks, he smokes and he cusses. He’s not a nice guy, not even polite. He likes dirty jokes and lewd gestures. Basically he’s an ass and enjoys it. If he likes a person he’s a little nicer but no less lewd. He also really enjoys a good brawl.
- Transforming into a wolf and back to a man is very painful for Guy. He has used numerous things to deal with this pain, usually just hot water and lots of sleep. When morphine came into popularity, he used it to excess and quickly became addicted. He kicked the drug with help from his friend and to this day refuses any sort of pain killer.
- He currently works and lives in New York. He runs a restaurant on Time Square called The Den which is high end comfort food. Irina runs the front of the restaurant and Guy runs the kitchen. He lives in a hotel suite with Irina.
- Guy first learned to cook from his mother and aunts while the pack was alive. Cooking is his last connection to them and so he has spent all the years he’s been alive wandering the world learning everything about cooking that he can. He is happiest, the most at peace and normal cooking. If you want to meet a nice Guy, talk to him about cooking or the restaurant business.
- He doesn’t care who knows he’s a werewolf. He tries to stay out of the media’s attention but if a person asks, he’ll admit it. He’s not worried about hunters, he’s killed every single one who has ever tried to kill him. He has a tattoo of check marks which count off how many he’s killed. He won’t outright tell a person about it though.
- The guy is richer than anyone really has a right to be. Over the hundreds of years he’s been alive he’s just stored up vast amounts of wealth. He works only because cooking makes him happy. That being said, you’d never tell he was rich just by looking at him. He’s a man of jeans, old t-shirts and scruff.
- Guy doesn’t like other werewolves or other magical creatures in general. He hates vampires, hates wizards and witches, demons, and especially hates other fae creatures. The only magical being he likes is his friend and the pack he’s somehow developed. It’s best not to try and make friends with him. He’ll choose if he wants to be your friend or not. Usually, it’s not.
- When he does bother with other werewolves, whether he approaches them or they approach him he uses a few specific terms in addressing them. "Pup" refers to young werewolves or any werewolves younger than him and most are. "Bitch" is a term he uses for female werewolves, he doesn't mean it as an insult though in some cases he does. He uses the term "mutt" or "dog" to insult another werewolf.
- He speaks just about every language there is. For some reason, he has a fascination for them and so learns all of them he can. However he rarely speaks French though it is his native tongue. Speaking French reminds him of his pack and is somewhat painful to him so he avoids it. It means he rarely goes back to France, unless he has a good reason. His friend is one of the only people he’ll willingly speak French to and with.
- Guy his straight. His sexual preference is girls. The only man he has sex with willingly is his friend. He will flirt and be lewd to men, but it’s all just posturing. With girls, he means it. Currently, his sexual partner and girlfriend is Irina.
- His only real hobby is the harmonica. He picked one up one day, learned to play and has carried around one with him ever since. He is very, very good at it. His current harmonica he got in 1931 and is one of his prized possessions. The rest of his prized possessions are usually given to him by his friend.
