*sigh* The treadmill that is my budget...

I made up a budget for my fiance and I... I've been finally allowed to take a gander at his finances, and WHEW - my work was cut out for me! I've pared down everything to bare-bones essentials, and made up separate spreadsheets for each of our budgets. I compared the two to make sure that everything was covered, and I just realized that I haven't budgeted in groceries until August 7th.

Guess I've got to re-work the numbers... we do have to eat, after all. Or I could take an inventory of all the edible stuffs in our pantry and see if we can survive until the 7th.... it's only the 20th now... I get paid on the 23rd, it'll be really tempting to go grocery shopping then, but then I won't have rent money.

The thing is, we're in recovery mode, basically. DF's finances are in shambles. He has two credit card accounts, both of which have been closed because he wasn't making payments. One of them is only temporarily closed, supposedly, so hopefully that'll be available after he finishes paying them off this month or next month.

In the meantime, we've got our roommates' wedding coming up. To clarify, these are really close friends of ours who happen to be roommates - but they're not just roommates. I call them roommates anyway to keep it simple, but I've found that often it denotes a degree of separation that isn't the case. Anyway, DF is one of the best men in the wedding party. Roommates are broke, too. So they aren't able to cover his tux, and he is also supposed to be helping with some sort of bachelor party.

So, I've tried to budget in the money for at least a night in with some drinks, or an evening at a bar or something, and the darn tuxedo, and I've been able to fit it in... except now I realize that there's no food money. All I can do now, I guess, is hope that DF gets a fatter paycheck than we anticipated. But that won't be until the 30th. And he's probably counting on anything extra going towards the wedding stuffs. But that's just too bad... we've gotta eat, after all.
