How to convince a married sim

I believe this hasn't been asked yet. I have my eyes set on a sim man who I want for my sim. Only problem, he's married and rejecting all romantic options. They are good friends already, though. Won't sims never cheat or is this only when he's family oriented? ( I don't know all his traits yet.) Should I just persist with romantic interactions?

Second question is about the clumsy trait. I read that clumsy sims have 'poor planning and shaddy footwork'. What does this mean, has anyone had any expierience with this? I have yet to see her do anything remarkably clumsy..
