Sarah's sad that "bubbler" wasn't an option for the thing you drink from. also she thought it was funny that the eve of Halloweeen, or All Hallow's Eve, had a name. Me, I just took the quiz ( Read more... )

Isn't All Hallow's Eve another name for Halloween? I mean, aren't they the same day?

That's what I meant. Why have a name for the eve of an eve?

I think All Hallow's Eve is actually different from Devil's Night. I believe one (the latter) is the 30th and All Hallow's Eve is Halloween, the 31st. It is the evening before Samhain (a third day...confused yet?)

Auughhghh!! I didn't mean to cause mass confusion! We're all on the same page, but no one else seems to know it. :)

What happened was, Sarah mentioned that Halloween is All Hallow's Eve, or in other words, is the day before All Saint's Day. So she interpreted Halloween as an eve all of its own. She then indicated that it was strange that some people would have a word for the day before Halloween (or Halloween's eve) because Halloween is already an eve, thus making Devil's Night or whatever an eve twice-removed, since it is the eve of an eve.

Yeah?
