Mother's Day!
We had a long but very lovely day today! I spoke to my mom before church this morning, and Simon and I had sent her several hydrangeas and a bouquet of tulips and hyacinths for Mother's Day this year.
Like we usually do, we went to church with Simon's parents and the club by the marina had a special Mother's Day brunch, which was very good! On the way over to his parents' house, we stopped to visit with his grandmother and give her and album we'd made for her: the kittens, pictures with her at the wedding, Meredith's garden, and some from our honeymoon too. Later, we made it over to his parents' and Meredith and I planned out what she'll have in her garden this year, and I'm so excited! She'll be buying plants this week for us to plant next weekend, assuming of course, I can't finagle Simon into launching the boat a little early this year. We had dinner with them, along with Dennis and Jennifer and our nephews, and it was blissfully calm too. Things seem to have changed at the wedding and after, and I hope it's for the better.
We got home a little while ago, and Anne and I flopped out on the couch and watched movies, which was fun. She keeps saying we have to watch Cat People sometime, and she is going to dig out her DVD of it for another movie night soon!
