So, this is it.
About a week ago when I arrived home from school and I opened my bedroom door, what do I see taking a nap on my bed? A crickett!... That´s right, a crickett... a little brownish/greenish crickett... So what do you do in a situation like that? Should you just whisper "sorry" and leave until the crickett wakes up?, or maybe bring a bottle of insecticide and deal with the problem? Well, I dont know about you, but if you are me, you just freak out big time: screaming and running around included.
And it´s not that I´m scared of bugs, because, come on? I´m bigger, taller and have amazing bug-smashing sneakers, so I´m not afraid of them. What I´m irrationally afraid of is of bugs getting stuck in my hair. That´s right a bug tangled in my hair, buzzing or jumping or just trying to get out and me not being able to do nothing. I believe the medical term is: crickett-in.your-hair-o-phobia. Scary.
Anyway, to avoid that drama, all I did was this: Grab a towel, fresh clothes, and took a bath. It seemed that´s the way to get rid of a crickett, because by the time I went back to my room, the crickett was thankfully gone. And I moved on with my life. Until now.
Today, I was taking a nap in my comfty bed, to wake up just in time to see the same crickett (I know its the same, I just know it) jump from my tv to my bookshelf. It seems all this time it was hiding behind the tv!
And I should have freaked out, given there was a crickett in motion in my room, possibly closer to my head, but I didn´t, I guess I was still to sleepy for that. So now, 4 hrs later, the crickett has remained in the same place on my bookshelf, and you know what? I think I like him already (yes, in my mind that crickett is a "he"). At least he is nicer than the last crickett that dared to invade my personal space. Because its not the first time either, but last time that crickett was so annoying!... it was hiding, and making crickett noises all night long, and I couldn´t kill it because I didn´t know where it was exactly... worst week ever!
So that´s it, crickett is back, and I´m going to start thinking pet-names. Preferibly nothing Pinoccio-related, because come on? how cliché is to name your crickett "Jimmy"? (Or "Pepito", that´s the name of Jimmy Crickett in spanish)
I´ll take suggestions, and let´s see how long lasts no-name crickett around.
