When you give each other everything, it becomes an even trade. Each wins all.

So... on the dress front. I posted the pics on weddingplans, as well. So far, the tally from both here and there is:

Dress One: 21 votes
Dress Two: 32 votes

...and a couple undecideds.

Personally - I was leaning toward Dress Two. I'm not sure what it is about that dress, but I love it dearly. Plus, it will look much better once I get it in the correct size. I think it's more my style. I've always liked things that were a bit flow-y, and less sparkly. Dress One is gorgeous, but I'm not sure that it's exactly... me.

I love how Dress One has a lot of embellishment on the train; I've always loved ornate trains. But... because of the embellishment on the bottom of the dress, hemming it will be tricky. I talked to the lady at the store I'd get it from, and she said they can't get it in a shorter length - which means they'll have to hem - either taking a bit of the embellishment off, or taking it up at the waist. More alterations mean more money, and a chance that I won't care for how the embellishments look once they've risen up a couple inches. Also - a thing that she pointed out - is that when people look at me, their attention is going to be drawn to certain things on that dress, while Dress Two tends to lead their focus right up the line to my face.

Dress Two has a corset back - which I love, love, love. Also, that ruching is just fantastic. It compliments my curves more - I think it looks more womanly. That will be even more enhanced once I get it in the correct size. Plus, I've always been a fan of simple elegance (that's what my name means, too), and I think Dress Two defines that beautifully. Plus, there is the fact that Dress Two is more comfortable to wear. Oh - and while Dress One is made out of satin, Dress Two is made out of French Taffeta. I'm not sure if you've ever worn taffeta, but it makes this swish swish noise when you move - which I love. It's a heavier fabric, which suits me better. I love the feel of it.

When my mom and I got home and looked at the pictures of the two dresses next to each other, we immediately thought Dress Two. But, the comments that I received yesterday made me doubt that decision. A lot of you had very valid points regarding Dress One. I think the comment that hit me the hardest was from a girl on weddingplans.

She said: "No question: Dress one! It's absolutely gorgeous on you and fits your body perfectly. Plus the placement of the brooch detail is correct, whereas in dress two, it is more centered and highlights an area of you body that most brides don't want highlighted, if you know what I mean."

...is this true? By all means, I do not want to be drawing attention to my crotch. Did anyone else think that when you saw the pictures of Dress Two?

Ughhh. Deciding this shouldn't be so hard. I need to decide soon, too... because that dress might be discontinued on November 1st. There's a chance that it won't, but if it does - I won't be able to order the correct size. So I need to make a decision this week. Of course, I could always decide to wait a few months and see if anything comes out that I like - but I think I'm going to keep going back to this particular shape of dress. I've tried on a dozen or so other styles, but this a-line with a dropped waist is my favorite by far. So... I don't think I'll find anything I like better than these two dresses.

And, to make the decision harder, the two dresses are very similar in price - they can both be ordered from the shop here in town (I like to keep my business in the neighborhood, and the lady that works there is a family friend). Sigh.

I'm still leaning toward dress one, but that crotch comment is FREAKING ME OUT.

Anyways... on the honeymoon front:

Our original idea was to go to New York City for our honeymoon. When I went with gogochan, kaphinated, and ratherbe4gotten, I absolutely adored it - but I kept thinking, "Oh god, Jon would love that," or, "I wish Jon could see that." It's a beautiful city, and there are a million and one things to do, give or take a few thousand. But... right now the Sandals resorts are having a deal - where we could book in the next couple days and get a full $2,000 of the price. Sandals are all inclusive - the food and booze are unlimited. Has anyone been to or heard of someone who's been to a Sandal's resort?

The only thing is... I'm not sure if Jon and I are really resort type people. I mean... lounging around sipping on fruity drinks is fine and dandy - but for a whole week? If I go somewhere, I want to experience as much as I can, not laze around all day. We love culture, locals, finding tiny shops and diners that the normal tourist would pass by. So... I dunno. The last vacation we went on was when we first started dating. We went to the Detroit area for a wedding, and ended up staying a week longer than we intended. We walked around, found cute stores to browse in, and ducked in every bar or restaurant that looked good. And we had a blast. So... I think that New York would be a good choice for us.

Thoughts? Imput? Want to tell me that I'm insane and that I have a whole year to think this stuff through? Go right ahead. ♥

day is a whiner, day likes to ramble, bridezilla!
