Time to fall like a raindrop
I don't know how the whole country is buried under Snowpocalypse: Harder, Faster Stronger and yet at my school it's too hot out to wear a coat. Maybe we're on a Hellmouth.
Classes don't seem too bad so far. I've got a 10:20 class that a 101 and full of freshmen, but it's with a professor I like, so I suppose it balances out. Oh - and I'm interested in the subject matter too. That helps. But still, it's a bit dismaying to be in a PoliSci class where I'm the only one who knows what WikiLeaks is (also the only one that knew what the cyclone in Australia's name was - but I have the advantage there in that I have Australians I care about). My next class isn't until 2:50, so I figured I'd take the time to update, rather than do any reading.
I thought this looked like fun the other night, when I went on a two hour binge on tumblr looking up nday challenge memes. There are a lot of weird ones out there, for the record, and ones specified for basically any fandom you could think of. Especially Korean pop groups. But this one's a music one, and I've sort of become a music person? In that I make a shit ton of character-mixes? I wouldn't say I've become some snobby indie music kid, but … I have a lot of music. So yeah, I'm gonna give it a shot.
So. Not so much with the starting off with an easy one here, huh? Love and music are basically the aural version of peanut butter and jelly; I'm pretty sure 95% of music is about love in some way or another - having it, wanting it, losing it, etc. And then the other 5% is about putting your hands up, 'cause we're going to go all night, where the freaks will come around, 'cause we go hardcore and there' glitter on the ground, boom-boom-pow.
And I think “love” (are those quotation marks really necessary) is a lot more than being in love with someone, though it's hard to find songs about the other kinds of love. Not impossible, but harder. The impossible is thinking of one song that encapsulates everything a feeling could mean to a person - if there was a song that could do that, who would need new music? Which is to say I'm stalling because I'm having a hard time picking.
But! Since the question is asking about a song that expresses what love is, and not asking for a song about being in love, or wanting to be in love, or what have you I think I'll have to go with this:

Because love is scary. Falling in love is pretty much one of the most terrifying things you can do. All you want is to find peace and happiness, and yet to get there you have to put yourself in this position where you're completely vulnerable. And yet we do it anyway because...
