The Vampire Diaries Favorites & Other Things
For the Picture Meme challenge at vd_land.
1) Why I love Vampire Diaries
The cast and their characters are just amazing. I don't really have much to add on that.
2) My favourite moment
Yes, I do ship Elijah/Elena, but my reason for this has more to do with the fact that this episode was Elijah's first appearance as well as the first appearance of any of the Originals and I adore the Originals and the direction the story took because of them.
3) The most WTF moment
I didn't mind the hybrid thing as it applied to Klaus, but turning Tyler not only was a bit of a surprise to me, but it ruined Tyler/Caroline for me. The disparity between vampire!Caroline and werewolf!Tyler was my reason for liking them and now that was virtually gone. And the sire bond to Klaus that followed this was just plain annoying. Additionally, there would be no angst over the vampires are immortal and werewolves aren't thing, which I really wanted.
4) My favorite character
Hands down: Caroline. The way she has evolved since episode 1 has been one of my favorite things to watch on the show. She is also my favorite character to ship, and I ship her with just about everyone.
5) My least favorite character
I adore Jeremy, I really do. The truth is, I like all the characters on TVD and cannot chose a least favorite easily. Jeremy, however, is the character I am least interested in seeing on the screen. He doesn't interact with a lot of people and frankly doesn't do much for the plot. (I don't want him dead for the simple fact that I don't think Elena needs to lose another family member.)
6) My favorite pairing
This is a tie between Damon/Elena who I have loved from the beginning and whose relationship I have loved watching as they slowly make their way from aquaintences to enemies to allies to friends to something and hopefully to something more in the future. Then there is Klaus/Caroline, the idea of which I loved back in January-ish of 2011...which means, I think, even before Klaus came on screen. They were, for some, the ship that would be so awesome but would never actually happen...that actually did happen, and I cannot help but adore them.
7) My least favorite pairing
The triangle. I wanted to say Stefan/Elena, but the truth is, I did like them during the beginning of season 1, and I don't even mind them so much now (although I do wish Elena would just choose Damon already!). What I hate is that she can't truly choose. She feels something for Damon that she refuses to acknowledge so she can have her 'epic love' with Stefan and it is so annoying to watch.
8) The reason I started watching the show
I finished the original series of books maybe a year before the series was announced and as soon as I heard it was being made, I knew I had to watch it. The books and the tv show are so different now, and I can barely remember the books anymore (if the last one ends DE, I may read them again, but I'll have to wait for the series to finish) but I think I like the tv show a lot better.
9) A moment when I considered quitting
I can't remember a moment when I ever thought I would stop watching. I am hooked on this show so bad and will probably not stop watching until it is over (or if Damon, Caroline, or Elena die). But John's and Jenna's deaths were just so sad and I was so upset that they both died...especially in one episode like that, I mean poor Elena.
