Back Againnnn!

Things I've learned in 5 months onboard:
(Quick list before the firerounds man comes around and gives me a yellow slip for breaking curfew!)
1. California is the only place in the world where people utilize the word "dude" profusely.
2. American schooling teaches a measurement system that is absolutely useless outside of the US.
3. Chinese school actually came in handy (no way!) :o
4. Cockroaches are disgusting, especially if they're everywhere.
5. Being 'naturally gassy' can be particularily dangerous especially when your room is 3x4 meters.
6. I'm messy like no other (oh wait, I knew that already).
7. God uses all people from different backgrounds (50 different countries/350 people/350 different stories of how God changed their lives).
8. French fries are not good for the stomach on voyages aka chuck-it-up time.
9. Praying for God to 'do what He wants' with your future is a dangerous prayer, cause He sure listens and takes you seriously.
10. Spending time each day with God is so important.

I've grown closer to God since coming on the Doulos. While meeting and making SO many great friends has been awesome (we joke all the time and make fun of each other), and getting to know and love people from numerous countries has ALSO been beyond words, the best part of being on ship is learning spiritual discipline on my own and growing closer to God. To ACTUALLY learn to need Him as a part of my life as I NEED food (I snack so freaking much onboard, chocolate galore)! All the above kind of just follows naturally behind.

Man, it's been freaking almost half a year since I left home. Crazy crazy! A new pre-ship (group of newcomers) joined the ship yesterday. 1/4 of my commitment time has already passed! These next 2 years are going to fly by.

Anyway, back to livejournal- Tumblr and Wordpress just didn't cut it. Oh baby, how could I have thought I'd ever leave ya!
