this whole rooney debacle absolutely baffles me. Why on earth does he want to leave? And why one earth does every journalist suddenly seem to think rooney has permanently become a listless, uninspiring sulk? He has just come off a season which won him praise from his critics and adulation from his fans, yet it seems he inhabits a world so fickle that he is condemned as a has been 5 poor performances later. Berbatov got 2 seasons!!! He is an excellent player, but despite that all I can be sure of is that he had it all at his feet 3 months ago and he threw it all away. I don't care about how he did in the world cup - many of the best players in the premiership, in man u (scholes, giggs, keane, vidic, nicky butt, gary and phil neville) have had international careers of little note. His off field indiscretions and now his ridiculous transfer request have sullied his name and apparently affected the way people rate him as a footballer. I think his skill on the pitch is not diminished but his aura as a footballer and the promise of his future are. what an absolute moron
