friday night swing
Went to the le hot sauce V pre-party at Friday Night Swing a couple of days ago. I took 2 classes that night, one on dips and tricks with Kelly A. and Mickey; and the second one on Fast Lindy with Carla Heiney (the world-reowned lindy hopper featured as a choreographer on SYTYCD!) and Nick Williams. Watching both of them demonstrate the lindy hop was sooo inspirational. Their demos are often followed by applause (haha). Carla literally looked like she was gliding on water. Her body is so grounded, and yet she is very light on her feet. Nick is very popular as well; he has impeccable musicality and is so smooth in the way he leads her.
Through practice (and osmosis from watching Carla), I danced better the following day on lindy on sproul, and i also started trying a couple of aerials too.
I'm taking a break from dancing this week, because I am visiting my bf. Hopefully there will still be cherry blossoms left when I arrive to DC!!
P.S. Happy Easter!...although I don't really celebrate easter, nor do i eat chocolate easter eggs. I don't really like chocolate. I can only eat like very small amounts maybe every 6 months without getting bored with it.
