Once upon a time there was a boat sailing the open seas. The women had been sailing throughout the year in search of the perfect island. They had not seen land in weeks, months even. It had been so long that they had lost track of the time and couldn't remember.
"AHOY! AHOY!" They were in view of an island, though it was still a good distance off. The island looked promising with its palm trees and sparkling sand. They were too far off yet to see the flaws, but they threw all their hope into the image and idea of a paradise island.
The ladies raced to pack up their bags and grab their washcloths and shampoo, for it had been a long time since they had washed their faces, scrubbed their dreaded hair, and shaved their French woman legs.
And so they packed and cleaned and prepared for the trip.
They hit the deck (not in ghetto terms, but actually climbed the stairs and stepped on-deck). The captain warned them to keep their hands on the wheel and their eyes on the sail, but they were too amped.
For the captain gave a hint, but the women ignored him.
They hit a shoal and the boat got a slow leak. The women packed up their baggage and jumped ship. They didn't think that they held heavy, burdening items, but in the end, it sank them.
What the women didn't know was that they had jumped into the Red Sea. If they hadn't carried all their baggage with them, they could have floated and drifted into the island with expectation and hope.
They jumped ship. In their haste, they had ignored the signs along the way. They ran aground, this much is true, but to the island they never flew.
They went down with the ship because they didn't take hints.
They got excited too quickly and went down with the ship,
and all the dreams of clean hair and shaven faces that they had loaded into the distant island.
Look before you leap. Leave the baggage behind, you never know, it may save you in the end.
