I was looking back, and noticed I've not updated in a month and a half. Things have happened, and other things have not.
Things that have happened:
- My new sail came in, for my 18 Square Metre catamaran
- I acquired a Detonics Scoremaster .45 handgun, a refinement of John Browning's design of 1911.
- I was diagnosed as a sufferer of gout, a (relatively) uncommon form of arthritis, of which there are about 5 million sufferers in the US. The flare-ups, usually in the big toe, are extremely uncomfortable.
- My brother backed into the side of my Saturn with the ranch pickup, punching a hole in the plastic cladding for the rear bumper with his trailer hitch.
- I've been fishing as often as I have in any year before now, with some success, mostly on redfish and black drum.
Things that have not happened:
- It has not rained on the fields, leading to my cancelling my order of soybean seeds and ordering grain sorghum in its stead. This will be planted dry, and if it comes up, fertilizer can then be added. If it does not come up, crop insurance can be collected, to partially offset the loss in income.
- I have not been able to sail my cat, due to the third item above.
- I have not eaten meat (except on Sundays) as a Lenten observance. Sadly, my sharp increase in seafood intake was probably a strong factor in the third item above.
I'm still reading all y'all, just commenting little. See y'all next time!
