The good-ish: my brother-in-law is pretty confident that he can retrieve/save the data from my laptop. I'll probably need to spend my tax refund on a new device, but it's probably about time for that anyway.
The bad-ish: my doctor told me that my new MRI indicates degenerative disc disease and arthritic effects. I'm going to send a copy of the MRI to a laser surgical clinic to have specialists there consult on what they might be able to do for me.
