Yesterday a coworker was reading off to a customer on the phone -- for some reason I couldn't ascertain, although this is public information -- the names of groups who have the meeting room reserved at one of our branches this month. I thought surely I'd been mistaken when I heard her say, "Central Ohio Time Lords."
However, I just had a chance to check, and, no: there really is a 6-hour booking next Saturday afternoon/evening under that name! And they've requested use of the TV/VCR/DVD player combo in the room. There aren't any more details on the booking than that, aside from the fact that it's a "club meeting" and fits into the "Community Organization" category (compared to other category options like "Education" or "Business"), and I can't find anything in a general Web search about a group by that name. Most mundanely but still fun, they could be having a viewing party, or they could be doing something more interactive. . . .
Part of the library's policy for all room bookings is that the meetings have to be free and open to anyone who wants to enter the room, and, I tell you what, if I weren't already having to go out of town for a family member's baby shower that day, I would totally crash the meeting (or whatever the word is for crashing when you're not invited yet technically allowed to attend). I'm going to check whether there's a booking for next month or any other time soon, but I probably wouldn't remember to try to attend by then anyway.
