Things that I truly believe YOU should know:

(To convince that not everything TV shows is garbage- only 99% of it)
Link TV. Truly wonderful TV for once. Programs that connect Americans to the world. They deliver a global perspective on world events and cultures through independent documentaries, international films, world music, etc.
Diverse opinions and diverse voices from all over the world, finally.

MY OPINION:Switch your MTV for Link TV. Learn something. Grow.

Ch 375. on Direct TV*

(To give an example of how easily people fall for propaganda)
Max Cleland. Former US Senator (D-Georgia) who lost three limbs in Vietnam and beat post-war depression to become a mentor to other wounded veterans, Secretary of Veteran Affairs during the Clinton Adm. and Senator during the Bush Adm, lost the re-election in 2002 to Republican Saxby Chambliss partly due to a TV ad that compared him to Saddam Hussein and Osama Bin Laden. The TV ad was pulled off the air after REPUBLICAN Senator John McCain called the comparison reprehensible and a disgrace to teh Republican Party's integrity.

MY OPINION: People swallow easy.

(To make aware a political issue that might affect you directly)
PBS Republicans in the House Appropriation Comittee are proposing to cutback funding of Corporation for Public Broadcasting (PBS Channel, the only normal and educational local channel that most people receive). Why? because of a "perceived liberal bias in their programming".

MY OPINION: "Sesame Street", "Arthur", and "Reading Rainbow" don't deserve this.
