Just want to let you know that Otomate (eg, games like Hakuouki, Hiiro no Kakera, etc) has put up an explicit notice saying that they will take legal action against any infringement of their copyrighted materials... so, uh, editing their pictures is included ^^;;

While the copyright matter might be an unwritten rule for other companies, these two have it written out explicitly stating they'll take legal action, so I just want to spread the word ^^;;

So... can you read Japanese fluently? I know I can't.

Anyway, I honestly don't think it'll be a big deal to them if they found out were were making 100x100px squares, cropping and colorizing them, and holding a just-for-fun, icontest with their images, and maybe having the icons being used around LJ. It would be pretty ridiculous for the companies to take action over something as trivial as this.

I think we'll be fine.

Yes, you submitted correctly; but you seem to have used textures and/or brushes in your icon, which breaks the fourth rule in the profile. Therefore, your icon is disqualified. You may still submit another until the deadline! 8)

That's right. The theme of this icontest is to not use any resources or tools, and focus on crops and colors (adjustment layers). 8)
