The sight of Gregory House does not inspire confidence, either in his abilities or his sanity
The bags under his eyes speak of long, sleepless nights, and even longer hung-over days. He is shabbily dressed, in clothes that have spent more than a few nights draped across the couch or kicked underneath the bed. His Nikes are popular with men half his age, his tweed caps with men twice his age.
The ever-present cane speaks of disability, while the increasingly-present pill bottle speaks of dependence. Together, they converse about unending pain, and diminished capability, and lessons still to be learned.
