The P!NK show at the Fillmore last night was by far one of the best live shows I've seen to date (aside from Alanis). Had never been a huge fan, but gained an appreciation for her vocals when I saw her at a radio show in Miami a few years back during the release of Missundaztood. Have been absolutely hooked on the new album, "I'm Not Dead," so I figured it would be a cool show to go to considering it would probably be heavy on new material. It was, but also included some of the bigger hits from past albums. I think the thing I was the most impressed with is what a fucking cool chick she is... totally down-to-earth, and really funny. She talked a lot, and really made a point to interact with the audience. Really dig that. The crowd was amazing, and you could tell she was really feeling the vibe. She even added a song to the setlist. Everyone, including us, went crazy during "Dear Mr. President." It's just great to see someone openly speak their mind regardless of the flack they might receive as a result of their celebrity status. Gave me chills. She's really worth checking out if she comes to your area. On a sidenote, she came out for the encore wearing a "Do Ask, Do Tell" tanktop that she said one of her friends got her at Gay Pride this weekend. Rock on!
We are also seeing Fiona tomorrow. Apparently she had a breakdown on-stage at last night's show in Saratoga, so it'll be interesting to see how the show goes... if it goes at all. Will let you all know how it turns out. Until then...
