Ok...So here is the deal--
I HAVE TO WORK--IT IS NOT AN OPTION!
Sometimes I feel like people just don't understand that! So let me explain:
First of all, it is for school. Here at Northeastern we have what is called co-op. This means that we find a job that we are stuck with for 6 whole months. Can't change it, can't quit it, can't even complain about it. (and I really like mine, so its all good). But understand...We are only co-op students, which means, no benefits, which means, no paid sick days, no paid personal days, no vacation time, no nothing...Just our measly $9/hr and 40 hours a week. (if that)
Second of all, I have bills to pay. You want to guilt trip me about not being able to do things...Well--YOU PAY THEM FOR ME!
Here it is--Pick one:
Cell Phone $50.18
Internet/Apt Phone $37.78
Cable $36.44
Credit Card $30.00 (At the least every month...But I owe $1150)
Rent $975.00
(Not to mention other daily living expenses: soap, detergent, food, etc)
I know some of you are thinking...Lucky, no mortgage, no insurance...But let me remind you--I'm in college! And the other thing is, I PAY THEM...ME...NOT MOM AND DAD...ME!
So I don't have a choice...I can't take a week off to go vacationing on the Cape, I can't spend $20 to go to the movies, shit...I can't even spend the $400 to go see the love of my life in Texas...Every cent I have is spoken for. My bras have holes in them--I CAN'T EVEN BUY NEW ONES!!
Lastly, I love it. I love working. I LOVE responsibility! I enjoy routine...I love it when the kids at work laugh at something silly I do...Or the guys at Building Services get something done because I let them know about it...I love that people can count on me and that I am dependable! Some days I hate everything about myself...But I can NEVER hate my work ethic! Some days it is the only thing I am proud of. So...If you want me to come that bad--You could have planned it different. We could have gone a different week...Or we could have done the matinee...
So get off my ass. THERE, I said it.
Peace,
Nic
