Happy 2004 everyone!
The first day of the year is almost over. I must say, the day went by pretty fast! We had fun last night. It was just me, Greg, Jo, Matt, and my brother Mark. We sat around playing drinking games, eating, and watching TV. We didn't get too rowdy, but all in all it was a good time. I officially had my first New Years kiss too!! :) It was really nice to have Greg with me. I wouldnt of had it any other way! We also tried to make our own car bombs! $85 later on alcohol...They still didn't taste as good as they did in Nawlins! But we all survived on Bud Light. The holidays in general were really great this year...It was all so perfect having Greg here!
We also spent a night over on Nantucket to meet Greg's Mom, Jim (his Mom's partner), and Greg's half brother Derek. It was a lot of fun. For all the times I have been over to Nantucket, I have never really seen the historical side of it or the residential parts of the island...It was nice. We got the chance to look through some family photo albums too! I can't even explain how cute Greg was as a child....He had the most precious cheeks! (Still does actually) We had a good time teasing Derek too. He is only 8 and gets distracted easily--Greg and I took total advantage of that! I'm happy that I have meet all of Greg's family now. They are all such good people, I can see why Greg is so perfect. :)
*WARNING: Changing the subject*
Edwin's services were really nice. His closest friends did a really nice job helping out. I hope they all find some peace sometime soon. It was really weird buying the flowers for the family from the Class of 2001--Edwin is really the first person we have lost from our graduating class...I think it's going to take all of us a while to move on from this. I'm glad that the people who put the tires in the road came forward...I think that will make the healing process start sooner. I put his prayer card and his obituary in my yearbook--it seemed like the perfect place for it. I hope I always remember to think about him, his family, and his boys....They all deserve it.
I spent some time with Cas, Erin, and Al over break too. They all got to meet Greg as well (and Bagel and Shaun too!). I think that Edwin's accident had a bigger effect on me than I am ready to admit...Sometimes I shut myself out from the world--It's easier that way, when you do that, there is no way to get hurt. Especially when you have been hurt so bad in the past, by those you would have never expected it from. It goes to show ya though, that its so important to just get over things and move on...You can't dwell in the past, speak your mind or dont, but either way get on with life...Don't hold grudges and be good to everyone...I know, I know...I'm being really optimistic here, cause its just human nature to hold grudges...But still--::shrug:: I don't know...Try maybe.
Sometimes I wish we could just all go back to being 12 years old...Life was so easy back then, wasn't it?
Okay, I'm done babbling...Sorry for the novel, I promise that I will try to keep it to 3 pages next time! Maybe if I updated more often instead of once a week my posts wouldn't be so long...But then again, probably not!:) I need to go think about some resolutions that I'm going to make for 2004...Hmmm....Any ideas?
Sleep well!
Love,
Nic
P.S. Joanna is coming back to Boston in 2 days!!!!!! Can I say excited!?!?!?!:-D
