Firstly the beard has gone. My newborn baby daughter didn't like it...so if daddy's latest little princess doesn't like it ...its gone.
Secondly, We've had a newborn baby girl...Lucy Kate. She was 7lb 14oz, born on Jan 6th 2009. This one just popped out in 5 minutes, unlike our first...which was a horrific experience for everyone. Some would say well thats socialised health care for you. Admittedly in Claremore Regional in Oklahoma they said 'on a scale of 1 to 10, with 10 as the most, how much pain are you prepared to be in' Allison went with 3...but it was mostly 2 with a couple of minutes of 4, and possibly a hint of 5. In Stafford DGH, England, they informed her... 'It's going to hurt...deal with it' so after 10 hours of 8, Allison enjoyed another 10 hours of 9, and reached a few 11's & 12's now & then. The maternity ward was like a medieval torture chamber. The endless blood curdling screaming kind of gave that away when she was admitted. But what the hell...it was free so i'm lovin it! & talking of free, Jan 6th 2009 was agonisingly close to 12/31/2008...and we'd have got money for nothing for another tax deductable child for 2008. And we wouldn't had to have started a new health annual deductable to max out.
So, pics of Lucy Kate will appear here shorlty...before next year I promise. Oh, & talking of Kate...Kate Winslet won a couple of Golden Globes, followed by a couple of Oscar nominations. Surely she's got at least one Oscar in the bag this time. Hey...i've just realised Kate Winslet & my daughter both have the name Kate in their name. Never realised that till now ;)
So Santa got my eldest daughter, Kensie, a trampoline for Christmas. But...he left me to set it up. Finally I figured it out & got the enclosure around it. It's 12' across, resembling a giant hamster wheel. So Kensie had a couple of bounces but it was already cold & dark, and windy, so she left it till the following day to bounce her way to glory. So later that night I go out to the car for something, watched the 12' hamster wheel roll past me, locked the car & went back in. So the next day the trampoline's 10 foot up in the trees, about 1/3 mile away. Well most of it was. So my plan was to cut a bunch of tree's down & tow it out with the car. It was a great plan that worked great till it no longer worked great. I guided it while Allison gently towed it & we got through most of the forest & sort of got overconfident. Plan A : 'cutting out any obstruction & carefully guiding the frame' was gradually superseeded by plan B: 'put the pedal to the metal & rip the thing out of the trees' So it got stuck..so more gas seemed to be the answer...& it worked. Well part of it did. The part the tow rope was fastened to broke free, & launched itself at just slightly under a million billion mph. Luckily this subtle scaffold pole didn't hit the car...because it hit me instead. Ouch! top of my thigh. Anyway. The trampoline's almost as good as new & as soon as we've found all the missing bits scattered down the hillside Kensie can finally enjoy her Christmas.
Simon :)
