My camera is supposed to work as a web cam...but will only do so if it has a USB connection to the PC, which mine doesn't. I use a card reader for now, which reads the camera's smartmedia card... but you have to take it out of the camera and put it in the reader.
But the USB stuff will only work with Windows 98...and i only have 95.
So... i am about to load Windows 98. I really needed '98 upgrade'..but that would cost *actual* money....and i have aquired 98 to install. My problem is i will have to lose everything i haven't 'backed-up' properly, and *if* it works there should just be the operating system & nothing else.
What worries me is that i haven't a clue what i'm doing..but will attempt it just in case...and this dodgy copy i've got probably won't come close to working when after i've deleted the lot.
But then again...my system is a heap of shit that can't cope with many things running together, and i thought if i got rid of some crap it may speed it up a bit.
I have reservations of whether my modem will ever work again if i install it without the driver.
So if i'm gone for a while...i screwed up, and will be saving my pennies for some new kit.
