Ah... sweet satisfaction. The laptop is back, it is running, and I still have all my data. Well, not all of it, cause the guy still hasn't worked on recovering mine, apparently. When was that? August? I don't think he's too worried about keeping us as customers, really. I backed up all my pictures as soon as I got Lappy running, just in case. I'm not taking any more chances. My music I could eventually get back through much tedious searching. Not so much with my graphics. Wow, I can't type today. If you could see all the typos I'm fixing...
I have a book to recommend to everyone. Eats, Shoot and Leaves. Don't remember the author's name, sadly, because my mom already took it back to the library. It's about punctuation, and it's absolutely hilarious. Anyone who's ever been online should read it. I consider myself quite punctuation-conscious, myself, and she [the author] made me feel very guilty about my light use of Netspeak and laziness with capitol letters. If everyone were addicted to punctuation like that woman, the world would most definitely be a more literate place. Maybe not a happier one, but I'd like to think so. After all, what could bring more happiness than literacy? Don't answer that, because I am willing to debate. You don't want to get into it with me, take my word for it.
Also, look at my pretty header, everyone! Isn't it great? I like it, anyways. Corel crashed twice while I was making it. Whoop-dee-doo. Aren't computers just a joy? It's a shame we're completely dependant on them as a society. I need a new user pic. Dear me. Why do I realize stuff like that in the middle of my post? Just more proof of my own stupidity, I guess.
I've finally caught up with the Bleach episodes, although I still haven't seen Memories of Nobody. It's such a great show! Shame I don't have the will power to go hunt for screencaps... otherwise I'd make many many icons. Have I mentioned lately how much I love icons? They're easy and fun and I love them, even if mine do kind of suck. I'm working on more, though! Right now they're all kind of limited to Crossroad and Chibi Vampire, because those are the scans I have. My scanning abilities are kind of pathetic, but they're getting better. The lid of our scanner won't close over the books, so I have to hold them down with one hand while I stretch across the room with the other and click the scan button. My brother and his friends like to watch me as I perform this stunt and laugh at me, but never seem to find the time to help. Oh younger brother mine, how thou dost irritate me so!
I should stop with the writing stuff now, since I've gone on like forever, already. I never knew how much fun it could be to write about oneself before. Neato!
Oh, and by the way, you may laugh at my choice of music, but this is really a very pretty song. I do not like Lizzie McGuire, nor have I ever. I just happened to get the soundtrack for my birthday one year...
